2.16 would be a bargain in NorCal.

Be glad you are not filling up a nice big SUV.

The best mpg I ever got out the Tahoe was 17, and it had a 31 gallon tank.

My Diesel SuperDuty is 38. Funny thing, it gets about the same fuel economy as my 8 :)

i actually got to $30 the other day...and that was stopping it myself...it didnt stop on its own. i was NOT going ot pay more than $30 for gas, even if it meant not being totally topped off..haha

At those rates, it'd cost me $220.00 to fill up my RV with premium. Good thing it takes regular.

I get upset whenever I have to pay over $20.00 for gas... then again I've got a Civic. I did have to put 22.50 in it yesterday at $2.14/gal. Good 'ol 35 mpg... crappy performance. I figure somewhere there's a nice equalibrium in there... not sure where though... hmmm

There is. It's called electric cars. If you find a good enough motor, you get really good power 100% of the time. None of this "getting up to my power band" stuff. That is why the Prius has 295 foot pounds of torque at 0 - 1,200 rpms (http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/2004/prius/specs.html) (I reckon 1,200 is where the electric motor switches for the engine?).

If you have the spare change, you might want to look into the tzero (http://www.acpropulsion.com/tzero_pages/tzero_home.htm). By spare change, I mean "could afford a ferrari." ;)
