Yeah, it wasn't the greatest run in the world but it's something for you guys to watch. I did better after that run, i was just testing the limits of the car. Enjoy!

Cool video,
Looks like you got more aggresive as you went along. I'm sure it takes a lot of practice till someone is able to start putting down some decent times. Never been to one myself but it looks like it would be a lot of fun although it would probably be a pretty expensive hobby replacing the tires every few thousand miles. ;)

Cool. I agree with KingCobra, you were a lot more agressive at the end. I went to Mazda Rev It Up event and it is a lot harder then it looks. The pros at the event kept stating that it is how smooth you are and how well you set up for the next corner. I was planning on going to the SCCA event this weekend, but they postponed it for the second time. Can't wait to get my 8 on the course.

I did my 1st autox a few weeks ago. There were two 8s, me and a guy doing it four yrs. OC he beat me by a few seconds consistantly. Couple things I see different in your video than our runs (6 runs each) is...

you seemed alot out of control, spinning out often w/tire noise... maybe tires? pressure? track temperature? using only 1st gear maybe?

What I saw you do just didn't happen to us, or even me as a newbie. My stock tires @5K miles were 38 fnt 36 r, 70 degree day, 2nd gear only after 1st 100 ft. Other fellow I think was running a little higher, w/more mileage. Solo school I'm sure helps. Gotta do that. :D Good luck!

I went to Panoz Racing School... Audi dealership invited us to drive Audi A4 3.0 Quattro... and we autocrossed... i got 2nd place... 1.27... i was only 2 seconds behind... it was fun... i hope to autox a RX-8 one day...

Great video! Hard to tell if you stayed on course. If you did that was really a long course-2 minutes. Also I couldn't see the finish. I could see the start laser, is that also the end?

I think I was running 36/34 that day. On the autoX on May 2nd I found out I needed more pressure in the rear, and was running 36/36. That made a big improvement on that course.

I think I have about the same mileage as you on the stock tires, since I drove ~5k on my winter tires.

It looks like you had great fun out there :D After you get a few more events under your belt you will improve greatly.

It seems that you had forgotten a key element in your runs..."Look ahead"
You seem to not be driving a course rather attacking each cone individually. This is also evident in the slalom. Smoothness is paramount, the fact that you honked the horn tells me your hands were flailing about. Also, did you have the traction control on?
