View Full Version : Pre order gifts? Maybe???

I heard that when Mazda did the preorder thing with the 2002 Miata last year people that ordered got some small gift a little while after they got their car. I know there has been some speculation to this on the RX-8 preorders. It seems that if you order one in Japan you get the special color keyed rotor shaped key, and if you ordered one of the premieum packages then you also get the die cast 1/43 scale model RX-8 in the same color as your car that you ordered

Click here to see the Japan web page with pics (http://www.rx-8.mazda.co.jp/reserve/)

Maybe, just Maybe...... and here's me doing my little part to wishin that it will be true in the USA if not every where

I received this from RX8orders in a response back in January:
"Note also, though, that you will be receiving a gift of an RX-8 book containing pictures, facts and the type of accolades that the press kit will likely include." No matter, I'm sure it'll be a classy collectible type of gift whatever it turns out to be here!

I'll bring this thread back to the top.

Here is Mazda's response to my inquiry a few days back regarding special gifts being sent to those that pre-ordered.

Thank you for contacting Mazda North American Operations. I appreciate
the opportunity to respond to you.

Yes, we will have special gifts that will be sent to the RX-8 Pre-Order
customers. However, the official word on exactly what the gift will be
has not been announced. If you like, I can send you the RX-8 magic
ball. Please e-mail me back and let me know your current mailing
address.

Congratulations on your order for the new Mazda RX-8!

I wonder when these special gifts will be sent out and very curious to know what they will be. It would be sweet to receive one of those rotary watches. :D

After all, until you've signed on the dotted line and taken delivery, you could still bail on the deal.

The 10th Anniversary Edition Miata came with a voucher in the glovebox, which one mailed to Mazda to receive the gift set, which included his and hers watches, a scale model, and a numbered certificate. (I hung on to mine when I sold the car.)

well this should answer your question. i asked if i would actually get a gift since my DEALER  somehow didn't make my order a pre-order. this is what mazda had to say:

" We have assured Dan that, although you are not part of the Pre-Order program, we can issue you the free gift that the participants will receive. Upon delivery of the vehicle, please arrange for Dan to contact Mazda to request that this gift is sent to you. Please note that ONLY after you take delivery of the vehicle can this be done. "

note that they keep saying "dan will do this and dan will do that". they don't want me emailing them with my questions anymore:(

I don't know if somebody has already posted this. I did a search and didn't find any thing. Anyways Mazda has officially anounced the presell gifts for Rx-8 customers: 6 email notifications updating them on the vehicle status, a 200 page Rx-8 development book, a unique Rx-8 Thermos, and a 1/43rd scale Rx-8 model. Doesn't say anything in the memo about a watch unfortunatly.

I just put in an order today and I was told to look out for a mug, 200+ page book, and some other Mazda "stuff." The guy didn't really know a ton, but he did tell me what he did know...

It's pretty silly to give away a $10 dollar gift after buying a $35K car after tax. Reminds me of Happy Meals and Cracker Jacks. :)

Any word on when these will be delivered to us?

Oh and I'm slightly upset that we don't get the rotor shaped key........ maybe..... just maybe we might get it standard here in the states :D I know, wishful thinking, but hey I'm entitled to wish.

I understand the giveaways will be received when you pick up your RX-8.

Yeah, but they have no guarantee that we'll actually buy the car once it's here- so it would be like sending out free stuff to random people, the way they see it.

Hell, the 10AE Miata gift set wasn't even delivered with the car - you had to mail in a voucher that came in the glovebox! That was a set worth having, though: Matching His and Hers Seiko watches, a 1/43 scale model, and a numbered certificate. I hung on to mine when I sold the car.

Our district manager came in with a lot of information about the preorder program yesterday. In it was a list of what will be given out to preorder customers. I don't know how long the information has been out, but we just got it yesterday. Also, if the rev-it-up event hasn't come to your city yet, and you have pre-ordered, make sure you call your dealer. We were informed that we can VIP customers to the dealer rev-it-up the day before it opens to the public. My dm wasn't 100% sure, but said it is a good possibility that the rx8 will be available to drive that day. On the days open to the public it will only be shown.

I was in the first order for the New Beetle Turbo; car was in the shop about 10 times in the 25,000 miles I owned it. No Gifts

I was in the first order for the Subaru WRX. Great car; will not be getting rid of this car when my RX8 comes in. No Gifts

The RX8 will be gift enough to me. I did ask my RX8 ball if I would get a gift with the RX8 and it sounded positive though.
