and why don't they just come stock on the US version damnit!?

However I will be putting clears on mine, leaving a yellow bulb inside. That's about the only appearance modification I'll be making though :)

the clears will most defintely be available through mazda, there will also be aftermarket ones. and they dont come stock to US like this because the DOT is REALLY anal

The clears from Mazda will likely be more money than I'd like to spend. The aftermarket will be quick in making them I'm sure, so I'll wait for that.

It doesn't bother me *that* much anyway... just the only mod I'd do if I had a few extra bucks. I'm otherwise happy with the car as it is, and I'll add the lip spoiler to give it a sportier rear end :)

I am planning on putting the clears on as well as clear tail-lights on my silver. Basically I don't want any color on my car, only tones (gray silver, chrome, black) on the exterior.

i'm wanting to do the whole "black-n-clear" look on the exterior (same as my current ride: '98 avenger...i'll post pics if requested:))

as far as the legality, it's pretty much nationwide that you're allowed amber/white up front and red/amber/white at the rear. any other colors are illegal. at least that's how it is here. but i know that some states are more/less anal retentive than others. hey DOT...gimme a standard will ya?! one rule...all states...thanks. :D

mazda or aftermarket depends on cost/quality for me. i guess i'll just wait and see. it's pretty much the only exterior mod i'm concidering right now as well...although the mazdaspeed 8 looks VERY nice...hmmmm. ;)

in cali, u can have clears in the front and side and the bulbs can blink white or amber(red or orange)

in the rear u can have clears also but the bulbs have to blink amber or red. but i have white bulbs in the rears anyways:)

now that we're near delivery i figured i'd breathe new life into this thread...

a quick google search revealed no one with clear corners for the 8 on sale...yet. anybody got any insight as to where/when we're gonna be able to grab these? i know mazda will probably make them available at some point but we all know the aftermarket companies will offer them at a much better price point.
