Well, I finally did it!

After long hours of consideration and debating over all the automotive "candy" available in the next couple of months, I went ahead and submitted my order last night via the Internet and just got off the phone with the dealer to confirm receipt of my order.

Fortunately, I already have a sales guy to work with since I bought my wife an MPV last August, so I'll be seeing him later today to discuss the final price and give my REFUNDABLE $500 deposit for my RX-8!

I must say that for the price and what the RX-8 offers, it really is a tough value to beat. I was also looking at the STi, EVO, G35, and a couple of others (I did almost get pulled in by the allure of the STi / EVO pocket rocket stigma), but where some of those cars excelled in certain niche areas, the RX-8 is just the "perfect total package" of performance, practicality, and luxury IMHO. I also like the unique technology of the rotary, the fact that it's RWD, and let's just say it....the car is just plain SEXY! :D

Mine will be:

Winning Blue
6MT w/ Sport Package

Thanks to all that replied to my "How much are you paying thread"!

Now why can't I get this silly grin off my face???

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Nice to see another South Florida RX-8 enthusiast Rotorgeek. I'm getting mine at Marlin Mazda after having a good experience with them with my wife's MPV. Sometimes going to a smaller dealership where the sales person turnover is substantially less than the "auto malls", has its advantages!

The RX-8 is as close to "perfect" as I can probably come had I designed a car for myself based on the qualities and features I like and need in a car, so I suspect the RX-8 is going to be with me for a very long time to come!

Anyone else in South Florida looking to preorder, check out Marlin Mazda and ask for Tito Zapata, he will take care of you. Tell him Dan from Pembroke Pines sent you! ;)
