What would be your ultimate sleeper dream car?? just pick and part your car together, and say how it'd be disguised as a sheep, ready to POUNCE!!

for me, i'd say i'd pick up the oldest, rattiest, cheapest, as-un-rusted-as-possible base model 79-85 RX-7 (that's the SA/FB), and throw a RENESIS in it, stripping everything out of the interior... a ~2400lb machine with balls to spare... throw an ugly set of wheel covers on there, avec la spraypaint, and i'd be set to kick some ass. cracked glass optional.

Better yet though, would be a first gen with a 13b and a Garrett GT35/40. 2400lbs and well over 400rwhp. Plus you won't have to wait 5 years until crate RENESISes to become available...

Why don't you just put a turbo FC or 13REB engine into the FB? You'd get more power than a simple Renesis crate engine.

20b cosmo engine in a 91 miata with steel wheels, and that nasty blue color they came in back then that you always see peeling off.

only 'cause 250 is way more than enough for me... and i'd want to keep it light, just 'cause... i'd never race it, just dick around the curvy streets and parking lots in the wee hours of the morning (far away from the cops...) :D

I've seen people with 302 ci v8's in them before, I would imagine a 2.0L rotary would drop right in

one of the ultimate sleepers is the late 80's buick regal grand national or the gnx. looks almost exactly like a stock regal but was painted all black and under the hood is a intercooled turbov6 or a dual turbo intercooled v6. if someone wanted a torque monster this is it! 300hp 300ft/lbs of torque(or more depending on turbo setup and which chip you have):D 0-60 in like 4.6 to 4.8 seconds and faster in the 1/4 mile than the best production vettes during the years it was made. rumour had it that the reason they stoped making them was because the vette people at chevy got pissed.:p

sometime in the '90's gm then produced the typhoon and the cyclone. the cyclone was a pickup civen the grand national treatment and the typhoon was a jimmy done the same way. both of those did under 5 seconds 0-60 and had better 1/4 mile times than the same year vettes. in fact the typhoon i think turned in the better times because of the extra weight on the rear instead of the lightweight pickup[ bed. i always thought it would be nice to get one of those, roll up next to a vette(or mustang, camaro etc.) and blow it's door's off :D :D

I think the Ultimate Sleeper car of all time has got to be AE86 (aka. Corolla GTS) with a tuner engine.

Well someone had the bright idea to take a '57 Chev, whack in the Rolls-Royce V12 from a P-51 Mustang! That would shit all over your pissy little RX-7 with a NA RENESIS.

I'd get something light, like a HZ Flattray ute. Then I'd supercharge a 427 V8 and then whack on some thick rubber. Oh and then I'd need to rip out the rear view mirror and replace it with a telescope so that I could laugh at you when you revving 9000 but only going 150kM/hhttp://ilovedeniro.homestead.com/files/dimebag.gif

Model "T" with a 347" Ford block.

:D

If it worked, it would surprise the hell out of a lot of people.
