View Full Version : Dreaming Splash Guards
restob 05-13-2004, 09:12 AM Does anyone here have Slash guards(front) and the Appearance Package in their vehicle? If so, could you post some pictures. I'm considering buying the front Splash guards from Resenthal Mazda but I want to get an idea on how they would look. Thanks.
Feras 05-13-2004, 09:18 AM im not too sure you can combine the appearance package with splash guards. at least i think so
pidge1114 05-13-2004, 09:26 AM here's a couple from the photo/mulitmedia gallery

restob 05-13-2004, 10:32 AM Thanks for the pics. Something doesn't seem right for some reason. I don't think I'll be getting them. Thanks again.
Velocity-8 05-13-2004, 11:21 AM I have the splash gaurds and I like them. They give a nice finish to the look of the 8. I'll see if I can't snap some pics and post them. For the money they are worth it.
I have the front splash gaurds installed with the appearance package, and i like them.
With the splash guards, the car looks more complete and they really help to keep the car clean too.
AaronElCampeon 05-13-2004, 12:22 PM No, the appearance package looks better and it is not compatible with the splash guards.

Yeah, I got the splash guards because they're ... ummm... SPLASH GUARDS. Glad I'm not the only "crazy" one... :)
cortc 05-13-2004, 03:42 PM The splash guards look great with the aero/appearance package, and they keep things much cleaner...

cortc 05-13-2004, 05:00 PM What is rx8 jerk's car?
\\Konig\\ 05-13-2004, 05:04 PM i think the rx8 looks good with the appear. package and front splash gaurds installed. It seems to help balance things out in the front, and it keeps your 8 clean too!
restob 05-13-2004, 05:21 PM Like most things in this forum when it comes to opinions; there is no right or wrong. It is just that, different opinions about the same topic. Splash guards do help keep the car clean and they look good to some people, but I made my mind up and they are not going on my RX-8. Thanks for everyone's opinions and pics.

A guy that got banned for being a jerk
thats his rx8
cortc 05-13-2004, 07:42 PM Oh, the red RX8 from the gallery...
SMigneco 05-13-2004, 07:51 PM I think the pics posted by pidge1114 are getting some negative responses because that car does not have the front air dam. The front air dam w/splash guards and appearance package seems to gel much better together.
mikeb 05-13-2004, 07:59 PM it looks unbalanced to me

kiyeoul 05-13-2004, 09:39 PM i think the mudguards help the cars looks alot cuz it does fill in that missing gap of the appearance package. car looks to empty on the front without it. i just got mine today so no pics but here's a link to someone who does have it on....http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18094&highlight=yellow+goodies.
SMigneco 05-13-2004, 09:53 PM Those pics look much better. The front air dam really makes a difference. IMO it is a night & day difference. I have the front air dam and now I may have to buy the splash guards after seeing those pics! :p

This could be why the last thread I posted looks much better than the beginning pics in this thread. They look unbalanced because they are.
Morgan 05-14-2004, 01:09 AM IMO the splash guards look nice--Not to mention the painfully obvisous as well--but they do help the car not get chipped and what not from flying stuff off the tires..
TracerRX-8 05-15-2004, 05:46 PM I'm wondering about getting the mazdaspeed sides....I'm not yet sold on the front and fin. I have the app. package but wonder if anyone just has the sides of the mazdaspeed kit. The front flaps look ok but I think the skirts might look better. Anyone have any pics? T
DynastyDan 04-13-2011, 04:58 PM anyone know of how to install front splash guards?
mrl84 04-13-2011, 05:14 PM pretty sure they have double sided tape and maybe a screw, and prepair to get flamed for bring back a thread from 2004
RX8Soldier 04-13-2011, 05:31 PM not hard to do. See pic

NOTE: Make sure you clean the surfaces, and apply the tape AFTER everything is aligned properly. The screw circled in red- give a quarter turn until it releases, then pop it out.
