Are we getting the ribbed (for her pleasure) texture or the normal smooth texture??? If you have seen it what do you think? Does it feel nice or cheesey:confused:

View Full Version : Whats up with the leather texture RotorGeek 02-25-2003, 02:20 PM Are we getting the ribbed (for her pleasure) texture or the normal smooth texture??? If you have seen it what do you think? Does it feel nice or cheesey:confused: RXhusker 02-25-2003, 03:13 PM Pray we are getting the non-ribbed! Even though she may get more pleasure -- it is not what we want. Having seen it in Detroit -- it looks cheap compared to the pics of the smooth leather - texture and look were not top quality -- let's hope it was just pre-production stuff. Maybe I am spoiled by the leather and seats in my Volvo (the best there is IMHO) PoLaK 02-25-2003, 05:51 PM Im thinking that the ribbing is not a economical issuse but rather something that helps the material breath. 91vert 02-25-2003, 08:34 PM I'm thinking that it is going to be harder to keep clean too. Lots of little grooves for dirt to stick in. I think it looks kind of cheesy too. Almost looks like plastic. How many ribbed cattle have you ever seen??? TreknMazda 02-25-2003, 08:40 PM Originally posted by 91vert How many ribbed cattle have you ever seen??? You've never had beef ribs:confused: What are you, some kind of vegitarian?:D:D :D Puppy1 02-25-2003, 08:41 PM Originally posted by 91vert I'm thinking that it is going to be harder to keep clean too. How many ribbed cattle have you ever seen??? I know they have ribbed pigs, just check out a "McRib." Perhaps the leather is not from cattle after all??? babylou 02-25-2003, 10:14 PM Originally posted by 91vert How many ribbed cattle have you ever seen??? Never. Then again I 've never seen hairless cattle or cattle with red and black skin either. Donny Boy 02-26-2003, 05:43 AM The leather will be smooth, hopefully, as ribbed is easier to get dirty and harder to keep clean. Also, it may wear quicker, as the surface area making contact with the body is decreased. tank 02-26-2003, 07:33 AM Does anyone have pictures of the ribbed vs. smooth? I have not been able to discern the difference in the pictures I have seen. RX8Dreamer 02-26-2003, 07:50 AM I like the ribs! mmm...ribs The texture keeps you from sliding around on the smooth leather. Of course, I'd prefer Alcantara or suede, but this is pretty cool, too. RX8 Dreamer P00Man 02-26-2003, 04:38 PM uhhhhh pics please?!?! ribbed sounds wierd looking, id much rather have smooth, though ive never seen it. And i def agree on the Volvo's the best there is by far. ________ Vaporizer Herbal Blends (http://vaporizer.org/reviews) brownchiro 02-26-2003, 05:01 PM How about sheep skins. Leather with hair. P00Man 02-26-2003, 05:03 PM lol. sheep skins, arent they somewhat dated? ________ LovelyWendie (http://www.lovelywendie99.com/) Cylo 02-26-2003, 05:21 PM I don't know about you, but I have never dated a sheep! Ron_Jeremy 02-26-2003, 09:30 PM Definitely not into the ribbed deal --much prefer the leather in the new 350Z ...hopefully the car that I sat in (at the Toronto Autoshow) was indeed a pre-production model. Also thought it felt kinda "cheap". RotorGeek 02-26-2003, 10:19 PM If you look too the right of the E-brake you will see the Ribs http://home.att.net/~superotter/303-0099_IMG.JPG Better yet http://home.att.net/~superotter/202-0116_IMG.JPG RX8Dreamer 02-27-2003, 08:41 AM Check out the pics in this post from the Chicago auto show. No ribs. :( I'd presume that this is closer to a production car than previously seen. http://www.rx8forum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2847 Bummer for me, but the rest of you will probably be happy. RX8 Dreamer RotorGeek 02-27-2003, 09:10 AM If you look really really close to the back seat you will see the ribs. The front seat looks normal thought. P00Man 02-27-2003, 11:21 AM i dont mind them ribs! i thought you guys meant like, hardcore ribbed, thats barely even ribbed if you ask me, and i think it looks kinda kool, and probably grips better. its more like slightly rippled than ribbed, cause the ribs are still smooth and look to have some space between em. ________ Latina Webcams (http://www.girlcamfriend.com/webcam/latin-girls/) glen 02-27-2003, 02:28 PM Rotorgeek, Taking a photo of the heated seat buttons is really really sad. You should get out more!!! RotorGeek 02-27-2003, 02:43 PM I wish I took that picture. I live in south florida, that was taken by Boowana in Detroit auto show (I think). Trust me I doo get out alot. It would have been nice to see the RX-8 in person thought Thanks for the concern. Next time I go to southbeach (Tonight) I will think of your post Cheers:D glen 02-27-2003, 03:01 PM Southbeach sounds good, I was there in December on holiday. The weather in Britain in February is not as nice as yours. In the UK we are more likely to take photos of the windscreen wipers!
