Mine was I came out about being gay which is good but I cant have kids. I love kids i would be such a good father, but how the laws are now I cant Adopt in Fl because I am gay. If they would ever abolish that law and even if IM not married I would adopt a boy. I have a baby brother in NJ i call him Mini Me I take him everywhere movies ect play baseball ect. Coming out was so had because know I would not have kids. I also have a little sister which come with me everywhere I call her sweetpea. I miss them so much.

Meowloud 05-05-2004, 09:37 AM Worst thing for me was a hangnail last week. That and having debilitating seizures from encephalitis, which was from low immune system, which was from having all the plumbing jerked out (no children fo' sho'), which was from cancer.
Damn, that was a big hangnail.

jtimbck2 05-05-2004, 09:54 AM DjGO (funny, I still think of you as eclps0!), be glad you don't live in Virginia. Our state legislature just passed (by a veto-proof 2/3 majority in both houses) the "Marriage Affirmation Act", a bill that could make it illegal for same-sex couples to enter into any kind of contract that "appears" to give them the same rights as married couples ... such as any kind of will or living will arrangement, power of attorney, etc. The law, which goes into effect July 1, could even be applied to make it difficult or impossible to purchase a house together. This is one of the most dicriminatory pieces of legislation seen in Virginia in decades!
Several prominent legal experts have examined the bill and given their opinions that it is clearly unconstitutional, but it was passed anyway. It's likely that it will eventually be ruled unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court, but of course for the Court to even rule on it, the law has to be challenged, and work its way up through the court system.
That's the most depressing thing that's happened to me this year.
hotpot 05-05-2004, 09:55 AM Jon's dumplings stinks.

Morgan 05-05-2004, 10:05 AM Meowloud-I figured your most depressing thing that would have happend was Jon's power steering going out so you missed the FL meet!!! ;) JK! I have to agree about my mommy's health too..
rotaryDemon 05-05-2004, 10:12 AM i hear you....i am not gay, but i understand how fucked up our gov't is....same old question: do sexual prefs matter in child rearing? i had that debate in Philosophy 100, if i remember right.
btw: my answer was NO! i know a huge amount of fucked-up straight parents. (i am a former welfare case worker.) i can't see how it would matter.
Meowloud 05-05-2004, 10:14 AM DjGo, I got my hangnail after I broke my nail in a door. Dam that hurt. I also wear brownish lipsticks ;)

MadRonin 05-05-2004, 12:57 PM When I learned about this little girl's struggle with cancer last year: Alex's Lemonade Stand (http://www.alexslemonade.com/). My mother died of cancer when I was young, so it's a topic that hits pretty close to home.
More recently, when I learned about Pat Tillman's death. I don't even care about football, but I certainly respected what he did and the principles he stood for.

Nothing owed here! It was the least I could do. I was glad to hear from Ronnie that you were able to get Jon's baby back last week. I was beginning to think that Ronnie and Ricky were going to let you guys down. I told him we need to talk when I come in to get the AC amplifier replaced, and I plan on giving him a $25 gift certificate to Outback when I do.
Take care.

I hate to be such a downer, but last year 3 of my classmates died in a car accident that occured basically right next to my house. One being my childhood best friend and very close with the family. 6 months after this occurance another classmate died driving home from work. Why did i even read this thread? I should be in the " so im in my underwear" thread.
