... not to mention Mazda may have even set the pedals to be even STOCK!! :O!! god... every car i've ever driven has the brake pedal about an inch further out than the gas pedal, and it's all slack... (no, i've never driven a proper sports car :p)

I noticed this too, and I don't think it's such a good idea. Heel/toe is mainly used under heavy braking, when you've got the brake pedal pushed down a couple inches. If the pedals are even to begin with, the brake will sink under the gas pedal and make heel/toe downshifting difficult. In the Best Motoring video it looked like Gan-San was having a little trouble because of this.

A friend of mine bought his MR2 with the gas pedal bent upwards to be even with the brake pedal. I drove his car once, it was very hard to drive and threw me all off. It's not a natural pedal setup.

I think once you own the car and drive it for a while it will become second nature... so it's not too concerning to me.

But then once you set fanny into another car you will be all screwed up again. :) Take another look at the Best Motoring video, it looks like the brake pedal is going fairly close to the floor. Bad thing when the gas pedal is still way the heck up there. :)

Do you think that the rx8 will be a good drifting car? I doubt it could hang with the Evo 8.

Obviously you didn't see the C&D video. The 8 was meant for drift! :D

Is it just me or is the clutch a bit far out there?

Oh yeah, the RX8 is a great drifting (rent an option video).
As for it being better than an Evo 8, from my experience, drifting in a rwd car is a lot smoother than drifting in an awd car.
