Well I thought it would be interesting to find out what other RX-8 fans are interested in other than just cars. Here are some of mine.

1. Radio Control Aircraft and Helicopters.
Most of my aircraft are of the micro variety my micro heli I fly indoors during the winter for practice other than a simulator. As for Planes I have a 3 channel .75 ounce aircraft. It is a little fast for inside the house but will fly well in little more than a half a tennis court.

2. Weight Lifting and Working out.
I lift almost every day of the week, this includes cardio sessions of running or what ever other cardio equipment isn't taken. I am in the process of leaning up for my wedding and then after that my wife to be and I will start bulking and toning as we want to enter some amateur contests. More for health reasons than becoming huge.

3. Mountain Biking.
Even though there are not too many incredibly large hills around here there are some decent trails in Fort Wayne. I have just gotten back into bicycling after a 5 year hiatus, after an incredibly rough crash I had on a road bike, which included a broken wrist, removing tar and rocks from my shoulder and peeling off a decent amount of skin from my right side.

1. Lacrosse
I play Lacrosse for school and it is my favorite sport. Nothing like taking out your rage by laying some kid out. It also keeps me in really good shape. For some reason I just really like it it is hard to explain.

2. Cross Country
I also run for my school. It is a harder sport than people give credit to. It keeps me awsome shape. I love just being in good shape. I have a great coach and it makes it much more enjoyable.

3. Video Games
I have to have some non-effort activity to balance out the other sports. I am a PlayStation guy all the way. Because of 3 words: Grand Theft Auto. I also like counter strike and command and conquer.

4. The Forum
I spend spend a good chunk of time on here and it is slowly inceasing. Don't need to explain this, becuase most people know where I am coming from.

2. Training the puppy - I'm trying to train my Vizsla to compete in hunt and field trials.

3. Pro bono engineering consulting work - I provide advice to a friend's small polymer startup company. Tryin' to somehow use those damn engineering degrees

Cueball,
I ran cross-country in high school along with being a state competitor in swimming. I would consider both of those sports to be of the most difficult. Along with wrestling. I remember how in swimming we would go to state and we would get but a mention on the intercom, yet when the football or basketball would go to regionals the whole school was in an uproar with signs and pep rally's. Oh well in the end I know who actually had real workouts.

In the "occupation" field for many forum profiles I always put Full Time Car Nut, because that's what I am. :) Racing, road trips, shows, drifting, etc.

Used to be a videogame junkie back in my younger days but now I just focus on racing simulations.

I started to get into turntablism, and those styles aren't really conducive to turntable tricks, so I am now playing a bit of trip hop as well. You are strictly Prog. House?

:p i've run cross country (at the hyper-competitve weight of 210lbs!! ahahaha!!), played basketball, and went to the Provincial championships with my rugby team, and i certainly dont' think cross country was the hardest of them all... sure, it was hard, but one dimensional... personally, basketball was the most challenging, while i think that rugby probably demanded the most from me physically (i was a lock, the front jumper, one of the biggest hitters, and usually the first guy in the ruck...)

but these days, i'm into photography (the link is in my sig if ya wanna see some... and i've got more: PM me and i'll mail some to ya) recently, i like to sing, and draw, and paint... i'd like to do film, but photography is too expensive ;)

i run, stay in shape like mosta ya's...

girls, for me, are recreation ;) mmmm... and sex should be a competitive sport, IMO :D

uh, this forum, reading technical articles, learning... chat. s'all good.

I like to snowboard every chance I get. And of course enjoy the twisting mountain roads to and from the mountain resorts.

On the side I mostly shoot pool, trying out all the different ales. Of course can't get enough of girls.

Lets see,...um learning to play the guiter. Torturing my friends cat :D .

Workout non religously. Damn I need workout partner. I am accepting applications. Women only;) :D

For those who thinks alcohol is bad for you. Think again. I read in a sci fi mag(don't ask I was bored at the airport). Two cans of beer or an equivalent amount of alcohol in hard liquor and wine is the daily amount good enough to reduce cholesterol build up in the arteries around 30%, that with diet and exercise. But when I drink I don't listen to that guideline.

Did I mention girls and torturing my friends cat(jk w/ torturing);)

there's a little bit of truth to that, however it's mostly the antioxidants you would find in your alcoholic beverages that provide you with benefits...found most abundantly in wine, then probably beer and then hard liquor. or, you could just drink a glass of grapefruit juice a day and get the same amount of antioxidants to plow through your arteries.

and on the hobby note, i love to snowboard, i've been doing it for 15 years now, have a racing board with hardboots/plate bindings and used to race with my uni's ski club...tho i suppose racing is more of a hobby. racing anything that is, cars, snowboards, skates, office chairs, in the pool anything and everything =)

Hotrodder,
Great looking hydro! Have you ever built any wooden ones up, assuming the one in the picture is fiberglass. I wanted to build myself a 50" RC hydro with a weedeater motor and always thought it would be best to use the smaller real hydro as a starting point and scale down. But I could never find the plans for such boats...

distant 9. video games... I try not to get too involved in them any more as how last game I played was FF8 (back in the day) and I put over 100 hours in it in no time at all. So I try to stick with quick games ex: Starcraft

Trying to figure stuff out - I guess this is my main hobby includes whatever I come across that I find interesting. I found minesweeper interesting years ago and I used to play for hours at a time. My best score was 89 seconds on expert but it got frustrating trying to beat that.

Racquetball - used to be a pretty good A or B player but I haven't played much in the last few years. Any other racquetball players here?

Tennis - I just started playing tennis with a co-worker 3 weeks ago. I've never really played before so thought I would get my but kicked but I haven't lost yet. :)

Golf - I've been playing about once a year. I can drive it pretty far but I really suck and haven't broken 100 yet. :(

I'm also a huge boxing fan. :D

Whitewater kayaking

Other interest and activities include:

Playing First-Person Shooter PC games. I'm not into console systems, it's gotta be mouse and keyboard for me.

I don't have the patience for strategy or role-playing games. I gotta have a high rate of dead people per minute;)

I really like deathmatch type games, Unreal Tournament is still my favorite. UTII disappointed. I don't mind some puzzle solving, but Jedi Knight II is about as much of that as I can take (I've been through on Jedi Master:p

I just got Unreal II and Battlefield 1942 and I don't know which one to play first, any suggestions?
