View Full Version : Veilside Verison 2 Kit

Sondance

I just started to put on my veilside version 2 kit. Front fit is okay, required some cutting and might need to modify the edges were the bumper and hood meets. The side skirts feels okay as well scrapes the door just alittle. The back bumper is requring me to take off my bumper support -_- i'll post pics once it's painted, right now it looks weird white and blue lol... now i need to find some clean deep dish 19 inch rims -_-

Should look great in blue!

Lin: I may be selling my 19" Volk Racing TE-37's... interested? http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?threadid=24403&referrerid=619

FYI: Veilside is looking into designing a rear bumper that lets you keep the bumper support.

the v1 back bumper is just a add on
you can keep the rear support with that

I dont like the rear
but trust me it will look 100% better painted
I do like the front and sides

They should just straighten that upward protrusion in the rear and add additional down fins and make it a real diffuser instead.

I think your exhaust is a little too small too, it looks buried inside the new bodykit. May want to consider getting a bigger one.

BlueToy

I want to get new exhausts, but first i need to take care of 2 door dings -_- got one on each side of the car like a month after i bought it.... what sucks is that both dings are on the body line... gonna be costly to fix... Wonder if anybody knows a good place that does those at a reasonable price in the So Cal Area

Overall, I think the V2 is a good looking kit. The front end is ok, and the side skirts are sweet, but I'm not a big fan of the rear end. I'm installing my V1 kit this weekend, and if I don't end up liking the V1 side skirts once they're on, I may consider using the V2's or the Mazdaspeed's.

well if u want my honest opinion i still do not like that kit .. but its ur car and if u like it thats what important... i prefer lip kits over full body kits though.

I'm lovin the side veiws, Front end is Killer. "Insert awkward moment here," Maybe you could paint the bottom part of the bumper black.

I agree with most of the comments here - looks sweet.

I looked around LOTS before placing my order for these side skirts, I think they are the best that anyone has produced so far for the 8.

Never liked the back end, just a bit too much for me - just got the standard rear under-deflector, and going to get the rear black section painted grey to match.

Gone for the INGs front bumper instead of this one...

Looking great though now that its all painted...

Sondance- did you have to shave a little off your side skirts so it won't rub your doors and mess up your paint? That's what my body shop is telling me I have to do, with mine.

Have to agree with black, very good photoshop work too, just a little overdone, the blackened part should be just the lower flares just under the doorline mark there if you noticed. Clearer to see on the plain side view pic.

Check out the rx8 anniversary event pic posted by East Moon...
They have an RX with veilside too, with blackened diffuser too.
http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26661

About your front part... did you do something to extend that "chin" on the front body? I didnt remember veilside2 having so long a chin, it looks kinda ricey...
If you see the 5th pic on that thread I mentioned it shows the Bodykit's front end which I think looks great...
BTW that is the Japanese Veilside of course, I dont know if Veilside USA did something to change it... but that chin is too big IMHO.

Sounds like they went really thick with the paint. How many layers did they spray there?

i used to be a huge fan of veilside...then i got sick of their fancy kits that really gets waay too complicated. like the back for isntance: wtf is all that for? NOTHIGN!! yu go to the Mintblue one. its simple and looks good. iono and the supra conversions and the new NSXs... cmon..wtfreak is that?!

Sorry, been really busy lately with work and everything. The Side Skirts does scrap like a bitch.. against the doors when I close them. My guy said he could hammer it down a little or shave it for me, but i decided not to do any of that. the paint that comes off isn't noticable at all. Now i just have to wait for my carbon fiber hood and wing -_-
