View Full Version : Veilside Verison 2 Kit
Sondance 04-27-2004, 04:40 PM I just started to put on my veilside version 2 kit. Front fit is okay, required some cutting and might need to modify the edges were the bumper and hood meets. The side skirts feels okay as well scrapes the door just alittle. The back bumper is requring me to take off my bumper support -_- i'll post pics once it's painted, right now it looks weird white and blue lol... now i need to find some clean deep dish 19 inch rims -_-

No pics - no mods
Just playing. Good luck getting it squared away

bcRX-8*TRI 04-28-2004, 01:16 AM what is it with everybody and teaser threads?
shawrf1 04-28-2004, 07:29 AM Should look great in blue!
Lin: I may be selling my 19" Volk Racing TE-37's... interested? http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?threadid=24403&referrerid=619
FYI: Veilside is looking into designing a rear bumper that lets you keep the bumper support.
mikeb 04-28-2004, 04:52 PM the v1 back bumper is just a add on
you can keep the rear support with that
BlueToy 04-28-2004, 10:39 PM I don't know why when i posted the first one it had the nick name Sondance... i guess some computer gltich... anyways my painter can't paint the kit till monday, so i'mma have to drive it like this for now -_-... dont' look too back white and blue lol all i need is red and i'll be sporting our Flag
Lin
Shawnj i might be interested in those rims if i can't find the Le37T's in white. Also I was wondering where could i get the clear corners like the ones on yours...

pidge1114 04-28-2004, 11:08 PM I don't know about everyone else, but the back of that thing, is well, um, well, um, I don't know how to say this...

mikeb 04-29-2004, 01:54 AM I dont like the rear
but trust me it will look 100% better painted
I do like the front and sides
himitsu 04-29-2004, 03:05 AM They should just straighten that upward protrusion in the rear and add additional down fins and make it a real diffuser instead.
I think your exhaust is a little too small too, it looks buried inside the new bodykit. May want to consider getting a bigger one.
BlueToy 04-29-2004, 03:33 AM I want to get new exhausts, but first i need to take care of 2 door dings -_- got one on each side of the car like a month after i bought it.... what sucks is that both dings are on the body line... gonna be costly to fix... Wonder if anybody knows a good place that does those at a reasonable price in the So Cal Area

mdw33333 04-29-2004, 08:27 AM Overall, I think the V2 is a good looking kit. The front end is ok, and the side skirts are sweet, but I'm not a big fan of the rear end. I'm installing my V1 kit this weekend, and if I don't end up liking the V1 side skirts once they're on, I may consider using the V2's or the Mazdaspeed's.

i have to agree,
But i have seen anther pic posted somewere but cant find it, but it was of that bumper and it painted the top half the colour of the car but the lower part black like the standered one and it look good,
i think its hard to comment just yet till its painted, then it be a lot clearer to comment,
The front bumper is sick on that kit !
mikeb 04-29-2004, 01:09 PM I have a mobile door ding guy that is really good in OC
I will post his number or pm you when I get home if you want
Shocka 04-29-2004, 06:04 PM well if u want my honest opinion i still do not like that kit .. but its ur car and if u like it thats what important... i prefer lip kits over full body kits though.
question: why didnt u paint the kit before you mounted it?
swifty949 04-29-2004, 06:36 PM he's test fitting the kit. before paint is done.
Shocka 04-29-2004, 11:58 PM makes sense ive never gotten a body kit
LiL BenNy 05-02-2004, 12:42 AM can some PLEASE PLEASE photoshop this all blue with the botton black ?

orbist 05-18-2004, 10:04 AM I agree with most of the comments here - looks sweet.
I looked around LOTS before placing my order for these side skirts, I think they are the best that anyone has produced so far for the 8.
Never liked the back end, just a bit too much for me - just got the standard rear under-deflector, and going to get the rear black section painted grey to match.
Gone for the INGs front bumper instead of this one...
Looking great though now that its all painted...
pmacwill 05-18-2004, 10:09 AM the black bottom is an immense improvement. go with the photoshop.
Mikelikes2drive 05-18-2004, 12:54 PM how many times have you been called ricer after you put on this kit? just curious...
Krayzie8 05-20-2004, 08:49 AM i really like the kit, that is the one i am getting for my sunlight silver 8, i dont really care for the blue color but never the less its a nice kit, you need some wheels though, the stock ones stick out to much....
mdw33333 05-20-2004, 09:42 AM Looks good, congrats.
Horse 05-20-2004, 10:22 AM Sondance- did you have to shave a little off your side skirts so it won't rub your doors and mess up your paint? That's what my body shop is telling me I have to do, with mine.
himitsu 05-20-2004, 11:54 AM Have to agree with black, very good photoshop work too, just a little overdone, the blackened part should be just the lower flares just under the doorline mark there if you noticed. Clearer to see on the plain side view pic.
Check out the rx8 anniversary event pic posted by East Moon...
They have an RX with veilside too, with blackened diffuser too.

About your front part... did you do something to extend that "chin" on the front body? I didnt remember veilside2 having so long a chin, it looks kinda ricey...
If you see the 5th pic on that thread I mentioned it shows the Bodykit's front end which I think looks great...
BTW that is the Japanese Veilside of course, I dont know if Veilside USA did something to change it... but that chin is too big IMHO.
Intrigue 8 05-20-2004, 01:51 PM congrats as well looks good
Lawerence 05-20-2004, 02:26 PM uh...well...the paintjob is very good!

Sounds like they went really thick with the paint. How many layers did they spray there?
BaronVonBigmeat 05-20-2004, 09:26 PM http://www.rx8club.com/attachment.php?postid=366862

LiL BenNy 05-23-2004, 08:34 PM can someone photo shop the blue rx8 with the veil side body kit 2 and the bottom skirt with black(like the one already shown) and one with white from the side angle please
thanks
LiL BenNy 05-23-2004, 11:41 PM I attempted to photoshop it, dont really know what the heck i was doing... i couldnt figure out how to change color so i just removed some colors on certains spots this is what i came up with, i think it looks hotttt, any opinions?
Mikelikes2drive 05-24-2004, 03:36 AM he really needs the clear side markers. such a cheap mod but makes a world of difference
crosswound 05-26-2004, 12:25 AM i like the veilside kit i'm in the market to probably purchase it also.

The 5th pic down is the INGS kit. The 1st and 2nd pic are the Veilside kit.
stuart99 05-29-2004, 02:56 AM i used to be a huge fan of veilside...then i got sick of their fancy kits that really gets waay too complicated. like the back for isntance: wtf is all that for? NOTHIGN!! yu go to the Mintblue one. its simple and looks good. iono and the supra conversions and the new NSXs... cmon..wtfreak is that?!
BlueToy 05-29-2004, 09:45 PM Sorry, been really busy lately with work and everything. The Side Skirts does scrap like a bitch.. against the doors when I close them. My guy said he could hammer it down a little or shave it for me, but i decided not to do any of that. the paint that comes off isn't noticable at all. Now i just have to wait for my carbon fiber hood and wing -_-
