Is that actually purple?

And why doesn't it have the cool sideview mirrors? The ones with a hole in them. Or aren't they MS mirrors?

Great pics! As a whole pkg that is something special :) . I even find the spoiler attratively done. It's a classy look and that color! - I'd like to see a white (PS?) version, but that ink purple is very :cool:. Oh and any inside and under the hood? :D

I thinks, that is near "purple".

That is just one of option parts. This car is not option.... limited to 300 units.

Very nice. Article says the color is "Strato Blue Mica".
I would have picked this color over my current black.

Mazdaspeed for this country (US) it will make putting

for the link above, does that limited 300 cars mean for the USA or for Japan just out of curiousity, cause i hope to be getting my 8 in a year or so, and would want the mazdaspeed if anything.

Nope, that had less of a deep purplish tinge to it. I saw that called Mutant Blue somewhere, although I don' t know if that's any sort of official name.

I'll add in that if I could have gotten that color, I would have in a second. As it is I am probably going to do something like that in a couple years if I can manage to hold off.

My dealer told me just last week that when the Mazdaspeed comes to the US, it will be in the 42-45k range. So all those people that are waiting for Mazdaspeed RX-8.. get ready to save up 42-45k.

If that does happen, I'm ready to buy a White Mazdaspeed :) Already own a Silver.. and that blue... hmmm... I want something even shinier than Silver, so I'd choose white. Besides, I saw a Saturn with that blue, and I didn't think it was all that... the current Winning blue is great... shiny and stands out.

you're right, it's called the Mutant Blue, and on some stock pics it does look kinda like a navy blue with less of a purple tone to it, but maybe the MS pics look the way they do due to lighting?

And here's a side by side that i did. To me, this is close enough.

i really like the rx8 from x2, wish that someone would actually make that kit, or mazda would just sell that car.

So east moon. What is the color exactly called? Mutant Blue, that doesnt look like it. I would call the color lavishing blue or something. Got paint codes as well?

MS Ver's color is "Strato Blue Mica".

I was at the dealership last week and I believe I saw that color on a Mazda 3. Can't wait to see it on the RX in person!

That color looks like Toyota's Spectra Blue Mica.

What's that hole in the front grill next to the plate?? Looks like an air duct or something... I lightened the pic a little to see it.

BTW, strato blue will replace the yellow in Germany (and probably in other places as well). It's already available in the colour configurator on the german rx-8 website (www.rx8.de). As others said, I would almost rethink black for that color, but then you can't get with the red and black interior in Germany.
