Mr. Eccentric

Okay I've compiled these key elements from a hard copy of the press kit given to journalists I managed to get a hold of. They're pretty insightful I must say.
- Engine is situated 60mm rearward & 40mm lower than the 3rd Gen. Rx-7 prior
- High power unit consists of an elabourate intake maze:
Variable fresh air duct (ram air) opens at 7250rpm
Aux port opens at 6250rpm
Secondary shutter valve at 3750rpm
Variable intake valve at 7250rpm (determines the length of the intake path not unlike the telescoping 787b's engine, but less dynamic)
- AC compressor is no longer located around the spark plugs; now on left side tucked under the alternator
- drive by wire throttle
- 2 catalytic converters
- electric air pump
- rotor now has a 'cut off seal' along with the original 2 oil seals as before, also the side seal is reshaped to resemble a keystone (triangle like)
- super low oil pan thickness
- elongated engine mounts (no longer the stubby kind that basically were rubber discs to mount the 13b directly to the frame), now they're like arms that extend out (Mazda claims reduced vibration as a result; I'm not sure why)
- more forgiving LSD as opposed to the FD, resulting in more neutral handling
- double wishbone alu. A arm front suspension
- supposed colours:
velocity red mica
lightning yellow
winning blue metallic
nordic green metallic
sunlight silver metallic
titanium grey metallic
brilliant black
snowflake white pearl mica (may be JDM only)
- Bose stereo that will eclipse that debacle that was the 'worm' in the FD
- aluminum hood
- compression ratio 10.0:1
- 225 width tires
- PPF remains a design feature
- synthetic material upper intake portion
- altered crank angle sensor (similar to the Electromotive type)
- Iridium spark plugs standard
- 6 fuel injectors (aye $'s!)
- "compliance" as Mazda calls it, passive toe and camber control (here we go again )
- aluminum pedals on high power model
- cupholders, for all you bitchy whiners out there
- 16.4:1 steering ratio
