Any car you are sorry you do not have anymore.

I miss my 84 Honda Accord. I had a lot of fun in that car.

88 Black RX-7 Convertible. Was moving out of state and couldn't take it with. Tortured myself by watching the buyers drive away.

Flatso - I had an 84 Accord. Car was indestructible.

My beloved 575hp '91 MR2. I loved that car and I never met a race I didn't win. Even when it meant getting pulled over after a 160+mph race against a Mustang V8 supercharged.

I miss my (don't laugh) '94 Volvo 940 turbo wagon. That sucker was as reliable as a rock and could haul more cargo than a typical SUV. Got great gas mileage too. Now I have to haul my dogs to the groomer or haul saddles to the stable in the 8! Nowhere near as convenient.

My 1967 Austin Mini. Sacrificed itself to save my life when I rolled him.

All my cars have been tame in comparison to the thrill of exceeding 60mph downhill with the accelerator mashed to the floor in that Mini. Simply engineered, simply fun.

I misspoke. It wasn't a '68 Barracuda, it was a '66. I haven't seen one in years. I parked it on the street one day, and had just turned away and taken a couple of steps when I heard a terrific crash. Some guy in a pickup truck had slammed into the car and totalled it. I guess I was lucky, though the 'Cuda wasn't so.

Probably better if it didn't. I can't believe what Hemi 'Cudas fetch these days.

1980 Honda Civic Hatchback- 5 speed - burgundy

that car was quick -( it had better low end torque than civics do now) and dependable and I could drive it on a sheet of ice when everyone else was stranded and unable to move

No, it didn't. But this was all a Very Long Time Ago. I bought it in '72, and it got totaled in '75.

I should have noted in my post that the pic isn't of my 'Cuda, though it's a match for the color and other stuff - I filched it from the web. As they say, it's for purposes of illustration only. (I guess I should give proper credit.)

'93 RX-7 R1 Twin Turbo badass red and all the problems that went with her. It was like a love hate relationship. I loved her and she hated me:-) Absolutely perfect car that most today can't keep up with.

It was too much making payments, keeping the other car running for bad weather, and making repairs on her at the same time.

I considered getting a Talon TSi when I was getting my first car over here, but I could only find one for sale at the time and it was not in good shape. I ended up with my '90 RX-7 which is what started me on this rotary obsession.... I sold the FC last week since 3 rx's was just a bit too much for me to have hanging around not being driven anywhere... I do miss it, it was a very good (and fun) car to me.

I test drove a Black 88 or 89 RX-7 Turbo II, I loved that car and was torn between that and a Talon TSI. But when I got to the dealer (Drove the Talon there) to drive the RX-7 it was running, which I found odd... The paint looked like hell, especially for a 3 year old car, the CD player didn't work, and the interior looked as worn as the exterior paint. Took it out for a testdrive and it just didn't seem to run right, ended up stalling it and had to have the dealer come pick us up because it wouldn't start. When we got back to the dealer the saleman actually asked me which I liked better, the Talon or the RX-7... I guess it was for the best that I got a lemon to testdrive, the Talon proved to be a great and reliable car for me, even though it got me some really nasty speeding tickets.

I had fun in my old Nissan Stanza, my first car, especially when the front left wheel came off doing 40MPH. Then the left rear fell off a few weeks later, it was stationary that time though. Guess that's what you get when you pay $500 for a car.....and not keep it up.

1992 Subaru Loyale. I miss being able to make fun of it's 0-60 time of 45 seconds. It also had a spare tire under the hood. I would show my friend and they would all start laughing. I miss not having it, but I certainly don't miss driving it. (On ramp=death with that kind of acceleration)

Damm, you guys and ladies are taking me back.. Got to say my
first car was a 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo.. her name was Brenda.
good times, back in the day, wasnt worried about horsepower,

before the SUV craze, you couldnt ask for a better backseat...

'84 'lude -Prelude in red; the first iteration of the 'box' body style and still my alltime fave....A cantankerous 1970 Morris Minus (Minor) hideous cream, sorta, with Joseph ( The Lord of Darkness) Lucas abominable electrics; more than once I had to get under the rear end and toss rocks at the electric fuel pump to unstick the solenoid when it stalled. Why them? God knows why the Morris, but both were equally memorable.. or is it the association with the female 'company' I was keeping? And, oh, yeah, my '99 (2000) MX-5..brilliant black [sometimes}. Thanks to whomever for starting this thread. Great concept!

I miss my '67 cream-white Volkswagen Beetle with sky-blue bondo'd front fenders, RIP died from road rot from Cleveland winters.

I miss my '71 orange VW Beetle convertible even if it did have the world's stupidest transmission (auto-stick).

I miss my '84 Jade Mist Renault/AMC Alliance because it had the most gorgeous color I've ever seen on a car. If I were to repaint the RX-8 it would be that color.

I miss my '91 Crystal White Miata (traded in on RX8).

'73 RX-3. I cried when I found it wrapped around the telephone pole. Ex-girlfriend was driving home drunk with my prized RX-3, put it around pole. She went to jail that night, and I haven't spoken to her since.
That was about 15 years ago.
I still miss that car. :(
But I do love my 8 :D

And non-car enthusiasts who treat their cars as appliances look at us oddly that we wax nostalgic on our real First Loves.

Mine was a '74 Vega GT with a weber, edelbrock and a glass-pack(Go ahead laugh, but I busted my cherry in it at a drive-in watching the first Friday the 13th, no neener neener...;) )

I have my 93 RX-7 after the "Big D" a year ago, even after the ex tried venemously to make me sell it so I cashed her out for it's 'market value' in mediation. :) Barring some catastrophic medical condition or otherwise, I'll live in it if I have to. Marrying young, being the responsible parent and now putting the son thru college, I've parted with too many irreplaceable toys that I look forward to re-acquiring as best as I can. Never again....
