This is a message to whomever reads it and the admin. We should make a list of what facts we really know about the RX-8. What will the horsepower be, when will the car be released, how many will be built etc.? Perhaps we should even have a FAQ on this on the front of the forum. Please respond to this thread with the facts as you know them concerning the car. Thanks!!

Is there any new news on the clutchless (F1 Style) paddle shifters or are we stuck with the typical 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic?

what on Earth do you mean "Stuck with"??!! I would rather have a clutch, and I'm sure many others would, too. If you can't drive a stick, then you should buy a sports car (in my humble opinion :D )

edit: as for 6-speed automatic? more like a 4-speed. The car will be lucky to get a 5-speed auto, nevermind 6. There's only one car out there that has a 6-speed auto (damned if I could remember what it is, though), and a 5-speed hasn't been very available until probably 3 years ago...

Give me a clutch pedal any day over a lame semi-automatic!

It is positively a 6-speed short shift manual trans, similar to the Miata.
