View Full Version : Leather parking brake handle... cortc 04-18-2004, 09:11 PM Here is a shot of the leather parking brake handle installed on my RX8... WHealy 04-18-2004, 09:13 PM Cool. Did the install go smooth? Did you have to remove the console or were you able to keep it in? cortc 04-18-2004, 09:29 PM The install was pretty easy just need to follow the directions and be careful... The consol has to come out along with the passenger seat, no way around it. The whole project took about an hour and a half, and that was because I took my time and was very careful... Baller 04-18-2004, 09:30 PM I want one in red....very nice detail takahashi 04-18-2004, 11:26 PM very nice... what does it feel like ;) (pls don't try to give me any answer :D) Tamas 04-19-2004, 04:16 AM This looks nice! But... What I really want is to have my plastic parking brake handle re-upholstered with black leather that closely matches the steering wheel... I think I'll head to an upholstery shop next Friday and find out if they can do it. I just have a hard time believing that in order to have a leather handle, I'd have to buy a complete new one as an accessory and dismantle the center console. Hopefully, the upholstery shop will be able to do it without removal :) But then again, maybe it is indeed not possible otherwise... time to find it out. emailists 04-19-2004, 07:01 AM yeah- no reason to buy a new handle and dismantle- I bet in an hour or less leather could be sewn - or even velcro'd so that the seam (or velcro) is underneath the handle and not seen. Shocka 04-20-2004, 03:42 PM my grandma said she cud do it just gotta get the matching leather ... hey grams to the rescue mikeb 04-20-2004, 07:33 PM lol ^^^ |
