Just finished autocrossing with the Spokes group. It was very fun and hope to run again next month. Next autocrossing date is on Sunday 5/23 and more info can be found here http://www.spokes.org/ It is held at tech ridge which is on Parmer and I-35.
Great for novice riders.
Here's a couple of pictures. There were 2 other 8's there and both ran faster times than me :( (I believe their screen names are pavehawk and parmer8)

Actually that's probably wolfhawk22001. He's got a black 8 with clear corners. I wasn't at the event. It wanted to come down and watch but spend most of the day washing the cars.

I was there too, running the red Mazda 3. (Gotta get in as much seat time as possible in one of those before September.)
Sorry I didn't get to talk with you guys - I'm Spokes' Timing & Scoring Assistant, so I was busy most of the day when I wasn't running.
BTW, the results are up at www.spokes.org

Did I read that right? You let Dan P. go faster then you in the same (Front-wheel drive) car? You should hang your head....:) :) :)

The autocross was a blast. It was great to have friends raced with you, especially since they raced their 8s. I finally broke the 60 second mark (59.9):D . Jason's and my goal was to beat the Mustang's time....success. The Z06s are next....wishful thinking, but it's a goal you a try to achieve.;) Hope to see everyone again at the next event.

Run 1 was exploratory, and I discovered that without the Azenis and springs of the MRIU cars, the stock 3 is a "push pig." Lots of plowing, and mental notes to enter the turns a little easier next run. Run 2 I did just that, but I wondered why it was so sluggish out of the corners, until I got back to grid and realized I'd left the handbrake on! Run 3 I blew the bottom turnaround, and run 4 I somehow managed to knock it into neutral while I was trying to grab first out of the first slow corner.
So I think it's fair to say that I had some teething trouble with the stock 3, which of course is exactly why I'm planning on driving one at every chance I get between now and September!
