Tire pressure monitors WTF??

Today I found a good old Canadian Robertson screw in my left rear tire. Of course it's flat...

Using my tire gauge I measured 8.5 lbs. I got no warning....

I thought the GT's all had tire pressue monitoring?? No?? I saw a rumour that in Canada we don't get TPMS? Anyone know? I'll be talking to the dealer Monday. Got to get the tire fixed.......

Yup,

read the Canadian pamphelts... No mention of Tire Sensors.

They're probably a pain when you change to winter tires, anyways.

We get the headlight sprayers that put washer fluid all over the hood. I wonder if that's a good thing....

Nope, no rumour - I posted in the forum back in July that my RX-8 (GT) didn't have the TPMS. It's not listed in the Canadian specs anywhere, but they also don't say "you don't get a TPMS" . It's only if you're familiar with the US specifications that you even know about their TPMS.

Gordon

High pressure spray, not the same pump as the windshield washers. They spray off the loose stuff, better than nothing in winter slush!

Sprayers (no wipers) are pretty common now, used by Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc. etc. Do any cars still have headlight wipers?

Unhappy TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR

Yes, I went through the same thing. I was all excited about a toy that I have never used. Then I was on the Canadian Forum and found out no monitor.

I called the dealer to see if I could get it. They had to call Mazda. Mazda said if it was an option in the USA then I could get it. They checked into it, and not an option.

I have come to terms with it, probalby not too reliable with our weather, although I do not plan to drive in the winter.

After I had come to terms with it, I was driving home one evening after work, and the sun caught the dash in a certain light, and I saw the sympol for the tire pressure monitor, under the temp cage and to the right of the fuel gage. Kinda stuck inbetween.

What a painfull reminder that was!!

I have not asked the dealer, although the dash light may be there, there is probably no monitor.

Thanks
Doug
