Just curious if anyone had any idea on the ebay auctions for reservation spots. I have the #1 spot in my area and it is starting to look like I won't be able to take the car.
That being the case (I hope it works out otherwise but doesn't look promising) does anyone know if the ebay auctions have ended with legit buyers? Looks like from what I can find they are garbage buyers not the real deal.
Any input would be nice.
Thanks.

When you ordered the car did you ask your dealer if your deposit was refundable? I would not order my RX-8 with out a refundable deposit.

I am considering it. I am not sure I can take the car at this point (long story but basically I am changing careers and need to back to school). I have the #1 spot here in my area (first order block, first shipment block) - car is Velocity Red with Black/Red interior and every option (6-speed high power). Just wondering if there was a market for the reservation spots.

you can definitely auction your spot. i've seen them for the 350zs as well as infiniti's fx45.

I don't understand why anyone would bid on a spot when you can still order them. I can see come June when the first cars start showing up. By then you won't be able to order and get one until next January probably.
If I was going to auction mine it would be just before it arrives. Or at least wait until the pr-order is over.

I was on ebay the other day and found one person who was willing to pay several thousand for the guy's deposit. There is one born everyday. It will be interesting to see if it is for real. Nevertheless, i have real problems with people who try to make a buck that way.
