After being on this site for nearly a year now, and just joining the msprotege.com forum a few days ago I can clearly see that something is quite unique about Mazda owners and fans. It might be the fact they produce the rotary engine and have a feeling of sports car in nearly every car in their lineup. It's just kinda weird (in a very good way).

Being a person that has never owned a Mazda in my life feel more true to them than to either Chevy or Honda which I now and have previously owned.

It's like Mazda has a cult following. A lot of the people on both of the forums I go to are not a-holes. They seem to be rather mature and all around great people.

I dunno... Just thought I'd say what was on my mind and get some feedback from other people.

I think they put some kind of aphrodisiac in that 'new car smell'! I am very emotionally attached to my '87 TII. Call it a love/hate relationship, heavily leaning towards the love part, but we occasionally have a knockdown dragout fight. My last fight lasted through the summer of '01, but we've made up now :)

this will be my first mazda. truly i think that even without the rx-8 my next would be a mazda. they seem to be a company that really cares about getting their product right and is really working hard to improve it. and besides they drive great!!

It IS a cult! Trust me, you will never look at cars the same again after owning a Mazda. You should check out www.rx7club.com to see just how fanatical we are about our rotaries. You will also find that under that fanatacism, rotary owners are generally a decent lot, and very helpful should you have a problem or question. Especially 1st Gen owners ;)

My first Mazda was a 1982 GLC 323. My second was the 1985 RX-7. My third car is on order:D

And yes, I am a loyal MAZDA-ite cult member. I think I was tricked into this cult when I had the 323. The chorme colored plastic "GLC 323" emblem on the back of the car was peeling and looked like crap after about 2 years. I mentioned it to the service department during one of my regular checkups and they said they would take care of it. I said "Great. How much?" They said, "Nothing, it's covered by the warranty." A small and maybe petty thing, but it made an impression. To really hook me into the cult, they put a new hatch on the car because of rust/corrosion the same week the warranty ran out. They volunteered it was a warranty thing. I didn't know it was because I thought the rust still had one more layer of metal to go before it qualified. Lovely Florida salt air;) I sold the car the following month and got the RX-7.
