I have noticed that with my audio system when I am using the tuner(base model, no bose) That it seems the sound will fade out slightly and then come back-very wierd, doesnt do it all the time and it isnt all speakers-perhaps the front left only. ALC is turned off. As if poor reception, but tuner ST symbol does not go out. It doesn't do it at all if I listen to CD's. Anyone else?? How can I remedy this??

do you have nav? if you have the music turned up and the bitch gives you directions, the sound fades out from that speaker. that's all i can think of.

Is it the Auto Audio Pilot. It automatically adjust the volume according to the noice level in the cabin. It's more obvious when the music volume is set on a lower level.

Nope. That's the "Audio Pilot" which is part of the Bose system.
Rboerio said that this is a base (non-Bose) system.

My guess is that rboerio has hit it on the head when saying that it sounds like a weak signal. Probably the signal is just weak enough to reduce the voolume, but not weak enough to trigger mono mode. Since the volume variation only happens when using the tuner, it must be tuner-related. Try listening to a stronger station for a while and see if the symptoms go away or not. If symptoms persist you might ask your dealer to check that the antenna cable is plugged into the tuner firmly.
