I think you could make a golf cart pretty fast. If the golf cart was modded to have a Pratt & Whitney F119 engine on it, it would definitely win a sprint race. The vast fuel consumption would of course prohibit it from winning an endurance race. Also, the golf cart would have terrible handling with an engine that size. So the RX-8 would win in anything but a 1/4 mile. Actually, it might win there because of the spinup time for the F119. But in a straight 1 mile drag the golf cart would win. In fact, I bet it would beat every car on the market in a 1 mile drag. Who could've thought a golf cart could go so fast? Amazing what that little word "modded" can do so much.

To mount an F119 on a golf cart is lunacy. In order to support the weight, the chassis would have be completely reconstructed. Wheels and tires would definitely need changing. As for the driver, perhaps lying prone on top of the engine? I'd drive it.

Another race I'd like to see is a stock golf cart vs a Honda Civic. I'd put my money on the golf cart if the golf cart were Type-R.
