Cool 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP comp G vs. Mazda RX-8

Man, I was coming home from dinner tonight in the Royal Oak, Michigan area (Cooledge and Woodward roads) and I was trying to catch a light with this silver Mazda RX-8. It wasn't any of you out there was it?

I've seen a red one, and a black one in this area too. The cars are awesome, and I wanna get a race with one.

Well, take it easy all!

You have a boring car. Trade up to the rx8. You'll have a better self image, be happier and won't have to go around proving yourself

Why would you want to race him?
Odbviously you would win.

Take it to a road course or autoX though and you will see the 8s taillights.

in what...0-60? possible (but unlikely if its stock), on the track? never..
straight line acceleration means little to those who own and love the 8
i'm secure enough in my conversion to rotary engines

Could'nt have been by much. The GTP has more hp but the rx8 is lghter. Does your friend know how to shift?

trendy26 : I haven't lived in Florida, but my cousin Adam Palumbo used to live in Hollywood, FL. He now lives up in New Jersey.

Everyone else : I love the RX-8's, I'm not looking to be an idiot. I like the styling better of the Mazda's as well, I went with the Grand Prix GTP because my dad works for GM (discount) & they are easy to mod. Oh well, take it easy...... The RX-8's are awesome cars.

I dontknow why you guys are being so hostile to that guy. Hedidnt say he was tryingto prove anything w/his car allhe said was that he wanted to race the car b/c he appreciates it. I doubt hewill care if he wins or losses. You guys really need to calm down w/the pride issue.

JeRKy 8 Owner : Thank you very much for seeing my side of it. You are totally right. I was in no way trying to brag or prove anything. Too many times other car owners come onto www.ClubGP.com and act terrible. Thanks, the RX-8's are awesome & I'd just like to race one, that it........

Roaddemon : Yep, I hear you......

I call bs on the all in good fun post. He was just in here talking about wanting a friendly punch from a streetlight or something and you all go on about racing in the streets yadda yadda... I want you all to honestly say that you dont romp that right pedal from a stoplight once in a while.

Oh and btw, stock for stock in a straight line I gotta give the nod to the GTP if he can launch that thing. FWD is a biatch and you can pull trap speeds of worse than 2.6 if youre not careful.

Twisties belong to the 8 of course but both cars are fun in their own respects.
