KrustyKlown 04-01-2004, 06:46 PM Not me, I got a Mr. Fusion installed yesterday. :) Pavehawk 04-01-2004, 06:56 PM That's heavy! RX8FanMan 04-01-2004, 08:25 PM what does that mean allstate 04-01-2004, 09:18 PM Personally, I won't drive any less. However, I might entertain the idea of using 91 or 89 (at the lowest) octane instead of 93. All I have used thus far is 93. I will have to do some homework before I make the switch though. rx8cited 04-01-2004, 09:38 PM Originally posted by RX8FanMan with the gas pricing increasing, will you all stop riding around in yalls 8 as much as you used too? and what are yalls feelings about OPEC and the whole oil problem. I'm trading mine in for a Toyota Prius :D ......... j/k :D . I don't plan on driving it any more or less. I've already been using 87 octane ........ maybe I can dilute it with ???? I was wondering how many other people would get that. Considering that quite a few people here weren't even born when that movie came out I wasn't sure. At the end of back to the future Doc comes back from the future to get Marty and Jennifer and he has a "Mr. Fusion" installed on the time machine. You could throw garbage into it and it could power the car off the garbage... anyway.. I live in Ga and the gas here is pretty cheap compared to everywhere else, even in Atl. I pay 1.80 ish for name brand 93 right now. Hopefully when I get back gas will be cheaper. blue flash 04-02-2004, 07:45 AM drive just as much as i did beforer gas in n.c is $1.76for 91grade 8_wannabe 04-02-2004, 08:09 AM yeah, i saw the movie on American Movie Classics last week. I do feel old. wankelmaniac 04-02-2004, 08:38 AM Gas prices are still cheap at $1.80/gal.....back in '84-'85 it was a $1/gal.....big deal. I say, if you can afford a $26k-30k car, you can handle an extra $5 per fill up. I'm gonna keep on drivin'!!! Hell, don't be upset with OPEC, how about the taxes we pay on gas? Here in Idiana its pushing $0.40/gal Here's a link for an idea of what you pay in taxes in your state.... http://www.energy.ca.gov/gasoline/statistics/gas_taxes_by_state_2002.html Psylence 04-02-2004, 08:54 AM I'm not gonna stop driving.. And I love an idea that someone suggested.. OFEC. Organization of Food Exporting Countries. Abdul wants to shank us on oil? Enjoy a $50 loaf of bread. Sea Ray 04-02-2004, 09:09 AM I'm still going to drive to the lake every weekend in the 8. But when I get there I will be taking the boat out less and keep it much closer tot he dock. Gas is usually 75¢ gal higher on the water and at .66 mpg, I will be sitting in a cove most of the time. I sure would hate for the gas budget to start cutting into the beer budget :) Foureagles 04-02-2004, 09:11 AM OPEC is supply. The other half of the equation is demand, and that's within our realm of control. One aspect of that control is the ballot box, and one possible result is that we continue to try drilling & bombing our way to oil-a-plenty. My Dear Wife & I are changing domicile from the Appalachians (cheapest gas in the country) to the Rockies (near the costliest), and are for the time leaving both 30 MPG Miatas behind and taking the 17 MPG RX-8 and the 7 MPG (!) Jeep. Bad timing! {{{{ Hercules 04-02-2004, 09:15 AM Originally posted by Psylence I'm not gonna stop driving.. And I love an idea that someone suggested.. OFEC. Organization of Food Exporting Countries. Abdul wants to shank us on oil? Enjoy a $50 loaf of bread. That's so ignorant. We still have gas prices less than HALF of the rest of the world. I can stand to pay a few cents more, it's not a huge deal. What I want to see is a true push towards alternative and renewable energy sources... cuz the gas prices are going to keep going up. There was a presentation about this done by somebody in the energy committe in Congress some time ago, it really opened my eyes. Then I could get by filling up with .50 cent bean burritos from taco bell. Psylence 04-02-2004, 10:06 AM Oil is a renewable resource. HA HA I also got this mental picture of opening the hood, removing the Renesis cover and seeing a big hamster in its wheel running!! On the subject, true I pay twice as much gas as the other car... but now I just eat less! I'm sure almost all of us could stand to lose a few pounds!! :p Hercules 04-02-2004, 10:26 AM Originally posted by Psylence Oil is a renewable resource. Genom 04-02-2004, 10:37 AM The worlds cultures and economy dpend so much on oil, not just for gas, but for so many things, that I hope people are ready for some very rough years ahead. And then lets not forget about water and most other resources we take for granted. I'm just enjoying whats left of the ride. |
