The US will be getting a 2.5 litre turbocharged flat-four boxer when the ship comes in whenever. This engine should become pretty standar for the top range cars. The Forester XT (previously GT) has already been granted this new engine which gets something like 406 Torque in the WRX. Lucky bastards.:)

I had an STi on order, then I heard about the RX-8. Needless to say I dropped the STi and went Wankel.

It's great that these other cars are fast and all (WRX, Lancer), but the cars are just butt-ugly. I mean, really, come on... you can't deny that the cars are hideous looking...

i don't know if they had it at other auto shows, but at the los angeles auto show, the subaru corner had a display of the drive train. there was this video about how the engine is mounted directly on top of the front axle as opposed to in front of the front axle...which is why it handles so nice.

so, uh, how many cars out there actually have their engines ahead of the front axle?
