Anyone want to drive to Denver from PHX for the rocky mountain meet?
Hey all you phoenix, AZ rx-8 folks!!!
I'm considering driving up to denver for the rocky mountain meet. We would need to leave on friday, drive all day, then be at the meet for saturday and sunday and then drive back on monday. (btw...there's track time and free food!!)
See this thread for details. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=24264
It's a long trip (between 800 and 900 miles.) and it would be a over the weekend affair. I'm considering taking the back route through monument valley / four corners and then through the mountains into denver rather than going through albequerque. If anyone feels brave then hey...let's make it a road trip!!!

cmc member?
does it look like they will be going during "free track time"? it seemed to me that you had to have a cmc membership (Colorado Motorsports Council). If ur interested in going to the track, I would join you. Do you have any affiliations with any of the tracks here? Are you certified? I have been looking at SCAA, but I don't know too much about them yet.
I Believe Omicron and the RX8 club in Colorado said it was 60$ for the track all day and it's being done through one of the clubs up there...but they weren't sure which track. I've never been to any of the tracks down here but I'd like to do that a lot. Never done any sort of racing or autoxing. Sounds like something I'd like to do though.

tracks here
hey there! i have been looking into tracks here a bit, SCAA is a start, Arizona Sports Racing Assn., and Proautosports. It appears you can take a new drivers orientation (required) course and then become track certified. Then you would take an advanced driving course. between 100-300 for three days depending if you are a member of a club or not. I will look into it more in the future as this month is out for me due to shooting in Maryland. If ur going to the track, let me know!
There you go pret....living proof I know nothing about autoxing...:D. All I know it that I'd like to drive my car on a road course because it sounds like so much fun (i.e. no speeding tickets). I'll do some checking around too.
Sanguine, you know my stance on the drive to meet up with Omicron. I'm still planning on doing the drive. I called him up and spoke with him about it. Really looking forward to it as well. $60 for track time is a complete steal and way cheap compared to what I'm used to. I'm in!
