Thanks for the great forum. Hope this will make the five month wait more bearable. After a few sleepless nights from when the local dealer gave me a call to say that they were organising pre orders for Sydney Australia, I decided on Black with the Black/Red leather trim. Only wish that we coul get the sat nav option down here. At least I got the first order into the dealer, so the wait is as short as possible.
Got to say that it was the four doors that did it for me,. The company I work for insists that our company cars have four doors. So I am just toeing the line.

Hey, four doors is four doors, right!?! Congrats on the car- that's going to be a gorgeous combination. Have you seen the car in person yet? The black is especially nice looking. And you're not alone on the waiting! The next 5-6 months is going to be pretty tough....

Havent seen it in the flesh yet. In fact the last RX-8 I saw was a prototype from the motorshow in Sydney a couple of years ago. The dealer was able to show me the silver and titanium as these are current colours on the 6 and 3 here. I just took a punt on the black as I felt that it would enhance an aggressive stance. I was interested to see the variety of spec options for the US cars as in Australia it is only being offered in standard cloth trim or with a leather pack which includes the power seat, xenon headlights, bose stereo and of course leather. The choice for the 6 sp manual was a no brainer given the extra power in this variant, despite the fact that I have been dozing along with an auto for the last 12 yearts. I'm going to have to get some practice in before delivery date as it would be quite embarrising top be bunny hopping out of the dealership.

We could all just go into coma's for the next 5-6 months, that would make the wait bearable. :D But then we wouldn't be able to enjoy the various topics of conversation that go on here.
