My salesman didn't know how to get my email address into my order ; rx8sales@mazdausa.com did ; he (William Zdan) called him and got him in touch with the district folks and it's a done deal now - so I should now receive my RX8 Order Updates!

Thanks, guys, for getting this information- I just ordered my car today, and the dealership didn't have internet capability so I wasn't sure what I needed to do to get on the list! I just emailed them, so hopefully it won't be an issue now.

If you "Know" that your dealer was able to give your email address to Mazda USA when they ordered your RX-8, I'd say wait for the emails to start from Mazda. If you don't know then I'd check with the dealer. If they don't know, then I'd ask them to check with their district folks and / or email rx8orders.
IF you build your RX-8 on the website and emailed the dealer that about the order that's great! BUT if you have not been in to see the dealer in person I'd make sure you do that very soon. My assumption is that if the dealer didn't get their order in by January 13th then it goes to the 2nd order date early in February for the 2nd delivery date range (July - September).
I'm trying to follow up on every unknown variable to make sure it gets done correctly - because almost every dealer is in the learning mode on this new process - which I commend Mazda for conceiving for the first batches of RX-8s to arrive to their most important enthusiast communtiy!
