So you like my rx-8 pictures?

How about this one....

Apparently someone backed into my car and took-off. The damage is below my deductible so I will be eating the cost of repainting the bumper and air dam.

I can already visualize that, I'm pretty sure it would look like potatoes.

I wasn't in the car when it happened. If I was I would have got a plate number and be done with it. Not sure what you mean by vengeance but going to jail over of a car is lame... though if the guy instigated a fight I'd be more than happy to rip his head off and **** down his neck..

of course if you saw the person do it you'd react, not by tailing him and doing some stupid **** like that. he obviously wasn't near his(her, just in case) car when it happened. that being said, bummer your car got hit, but i can't say i like the grill at all. whatever floats your boat man.

You know i saw your car and was like that is awful and how anyone can just drive off when they hit a 30,000+ car..... Until tonight when i was out watching a friend of mine's hockey game. The person hit my car and obviously drove off.... what can i do with this?

I never mentioned it, but mine had a dent right on that radiused edge of that grill opening. It was there when I bought it & didn't see it 'till the next day, when it wasn't dark & raining anymore. Looked like somebody hit it with a broomstick or a crowbar or something.

Anyway, that Dupont paint really is good stuff, and it's the same identical paint as what is used in Hiroshima, so it matches & will last just as good as if it was never damaged. At least that's what they told me anyway. I was real concerned about un-even aging of the repair job, nevermind the initial match.

Of course, my fix was no-charge. This really sux. If the persons only knew how you guys are about your cars, they would have at least stopped & taken responsibility for the damage done. Maybe not, a lot of low-life outside, you know...

So, hopefully I have helped ease your pain, where you can rest assured that once the damage is fixed, it really will be fixed, permanently.

oh yeah, if people only knew how many "brand new" cars had to visit the body shop after that long trip from the factory... I personally know of a yellow RX-8 that had a nasty "chain job" done to the right-rear fender off-the-truck. A couple of days later, it was on the lot, a couple more days, it was gone to it's new proud owner, whoever that was. How many "new cars" I wonder have been sold like that? Probably a bunch more than we would like to think...

brothervoodoo.... gosh soo sorry to see this.. but I'm sure it'll be back to perfect in no time.. I'm so paranoid to park my car anywhere now, and I always use a car cover whenever I'm parked outside.. but you know what goes around comes around, and I'm sure whoever did this will have the same lucky sooner or later.

Its so pathetic these days that people are so unhonorable not to leave their name and insurance company when they hit you....it makes me sick, because its happend to me before (not in my 8).

Looks like a good excuse to get the MS front end. Then sell the front lip spoiler to help offset the cost.

I'm not a fan of the MS front end, seems to dwarf the stock wheels. I like the MS rear (exhaust finisher area) but unfortunately the guy/gal only hit me in the front.

I don't know the specifics of BroVude's crunch, but here's some info to consider for everyone who is mad:

Parking around the SF area is more often than not extremely tight. A commonly observed parallel parking technique, it's disgusting to say, is backing up the car until it touches. I don't have to stretch my imagination too far to speculate that no note was left because the offending parker thought little of the contact and didn't even bother to look. A big part of the problem I see here is that Mazda didn't give us the most robust of bumper designs.

In any case, my heart goes out to all 8s that have contracted parking rash.
