I did use the search, but didn't find any thread that could answer me at 100%.

So, I would like to install that size on tire (Michelin Sport) 275/35R18 on my stock 8 rims. Would that fit? if yes, can that damage anything on my car? (ABS, touching body..etc)

I used http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp?action=submit to check the ratio and the Diameter Difference: 1.55%

Rim Width Range: 9 - 11, I guess the 8 rims are 8 -10 right???

Yes the stock rims are 8" and 275's will give you a fat tire look bad enough to make a SUV owner blush! I put 245/40WR18's on mine and they fit just right.

Can you give any comments on handling, stability, following groves, noise, and what brand w/245s? Contemplating the same! (or 255 which would be nearly same diameter as OEM) :)

Well a search will come up with various threads I started about this. I wanted a set of Ultra high performance tires so I would not be left in the lerch if it snows around here.

The amount of snow we get here does not warrant (at least in my book) the added expense and time of getting dedicated snows on separate wheels. There are no tires in the OEM size of 224/45 so I went to the wider size in a Sumitomo HTR+ Ultra high performance all season tire. Handeling is about the same. wet handeling is better and they work great in the slush and snow. I didn't get them to go bustin' over snow drifts.

They are noticebly quieter and smoother than the Potenzas though. They still do the things wide tires do such as following grooves and such but that is to be expected for the width.

Can't answer that one but the 245's get close when turning and they are just over a inch wider than stock.

I use 275/35/18 Hoosiers for Autocross on the stock rims. Typically, the profile of a Hoosier is MUCH more square than a street tire, and they touch nothing, not even under a full load.

They will fit fine. There are a couple of pictures of the 275's mounted at the link in the signature.

Can you fit a finger between the tire and 8 body?

This is my big concern to order the tires and they don't fit because they touch the inside of my 8.

Yes. Not only would I, but I intend to when the stock Bridgestones wear out (10,000 miles and they are still fine).

The Pilot Sport is a GREAT tire, and the profile is less square than the Hoosier, so I think it will be fine. The Pilot Sport Cup is a track tire, and all I really know about it is that the two people I know that bought them, wore them out in 5000 miles and they didn't stick any better than the Pilot Sports (this was on a Boxster).

Yes, I can fit a finger in there. When the car comes back from an autocross run, I wipe the entire surface of the tire down by hand (to remove the rocks picked up by the tire), and I can reach every part of the tire (except the bottom, obviously) with no issues.

And, with cornering forces well above 1g, they don't hit. There is no way you'll reach that kind of cornering on the street, so I think it will be fine. Now, if you lower it..........who knows.

If you look under the section entitled "Solo II", there are several pictures of the 275's mounted and on the car. There is even one that shows the relative difference between the (old) 245's and the (new) 275's.
