I used Zaino for the first time this weekend. It was a pain but it looks great. I would post pictures but my digital camera is only 2mp and would not do it any justice

I mixed the Zfx and Z5 in one of those 2 oz bottles that came with the kit. Same for the Z2. After two coats of Z5 and 3 coats of Z2 with the spray enhancer after every coat those 2 oz bottles are still about half full.

My questions:

Did i not lay it on thick enough? The layers seemed kind of thin but i read that a little goes a long way. I was able to spread a dime sized amount on the entire hood.

Can I leave this leftover Zfx concoction in the 2oz bottle and use it again next time or does the stuff need to be used within a certain time frame once mixed?

How often do i need to clay bar it again? Can i just drop on coats of Z5 and Z2 from now on and never worry about starting over from scratch or will i eventually need to do all this again?

The instructions say not to keep unused/mixed polish for over 24 hours, ( If I remember right, or is it 12 hours?) Either way you made up too much. Sounds like you need to apply the rest of it today :)

I generally mix up 1 ounce and get 2 coats with that much. I would think you should not have to clay bar again unless you start to feel some bumps in areas.

6 hours for the already mixed stuff before it starts to deteriorate. I wouldnt use it past that.

1 ounce mix is enough for almost 2 coats once you get the hang of it, but I think a dime size for the entire hood might have been too thin :D Then again, I usually use up about 1/4 ounce saturating the aplicator pad and the rest is minor squirts to keep it moist and spreading zaino love.

Ok, so those bottles are trash now.

I think i will try a different applicator pad next time. The one Zaino sent me was more like a giant sponge wrapped in cotton. It seemed like it soaked up a lot. I think that is part of why it went on so thin.

I actually pre-damped the applicator pad with the spray cleaner (Z6?) that way it didn't soak up as much of the polish. But remember, 2 thinner coats are better than a thicker coat.

Genom! what is this about minor squirts, moist, zaino love, etc?? :) No wonder you like to zaino your car a lot.

I dampened the applicator with water for the z5 coats. it didn't seem right. I re-read the literature i had on it and saw the tip on using the Z6 instead. I did that on the Z2.

Now my wife wants me to do the same process on her Honday Passport. Not fun.
