Just wondering what the proper method for embedding video is... I thought it was , though I haven't done it in a while since we the site has done auto-embed for a while now. I tried searching and tried a few different things without any success. Has the feature simply been disabled?

It seems the youtube feature has been changed. In the beginning there was a tab and then you could just post the link and now that doesn't work.

well it was working just fine. and it worked fro vimeo as well. all you HAD to do was put in the link ending with the video number and get rid of any excess garbage at the end like this one below, minus the extra dot i have used obviously

I've just always copied the link from the browser URL line, deleting any "related" garbage. The forum would convert it to an embed just fine.

It does appear to be not functioning today.

I've never gotten it to embed via another method.

seems to be working for me now.... I messed with the plugin that handles media. Let me know if it still has some issues

I wasn't sure if I was messing something up or what... wasn't aware that it was actually a problem lol. Well, thanks for the help!

I went back to edit a post and it still defaults to a normal link, though it does work for new posts fine. Not a huge deal. Glad to have it back to normal for new posts at least.

I brought this up a couple of weeks ago. Seems to come and go.

I thought I had noticed a few regular youtube links in some threads before, but I didn't think much of it until I actually tried to post a video. I'm pretty sure I've noticed it a few times in the last week or 2 like you've said.
