I was looking through ebay and saw a black GT with all leather seats. I had thought I got top of line, but the sides of my seats are rubber, and I have seen a few with all leather. I'm a little confused. I had no idea there were all leather seats. How come some have all leather, and others have the leather rubber combo? Anyone know anything about this? Is this custom, or do some cars have all leather and some rubber. Thanks!!!

There is a point in that thread where they talk about the rubber part.

OK Thanks. So I suppose the one I saw on ebay was customized that way, as are other ones I saw on here. I guess it makes sense, since the rubber is there instead of leather due to the wearing you get from going in and out of vehicle. The all leather combo look nicer IMO then the rubber combo, but I guess those people paid for it. Forgive my ignorance. :)

I strongly believe that the ribbed part of the original factory leather is ribbed leather, not rubber, not vinyl. It's expensive, hard to fake ribbed leather as seen in LV handbags.
I can't prove it unless I rip up my original leather seats to have a look. If anyone tried, let the world know. Thanks.

Can someone post a picture of the "rubber" inserts on the leather seats? I can't remember what they look like like...actually, come to think of it, I'm not sure I've ever seen the leather interior...hmmm....odd. I think I'm losing my mind. Anyway, pics? :D
Wait, by "rubber" do people mean vinyl?

Ok...I need to see this because I can't recall it at all.
Thanks for the confirmation that I am definitely losing my mind. :D

I tend to agree with you- go out and start poking at it- it doesn't react like vinyl or rubber- it acts like ribbed leather.

Ok, but can you rip a LV handbag just to give us an example? :p
