RECALL.. damn

Man, like everyone I have to bring my car back for the 2 recalls. I was just wondering what most of you got for your cars. Did you guys get Mazdas 3 or 6 or some Dodge Neon...

I got a Dodge Neon last time, and I will never be in one again.

Do you guys have any ideas to give me so I can argue myself a mazda and not a dodge something like that for Enterprise

When I had my car in two weeks ago, they put me in a brand new Pontiac Gran Prix GTP, loaded to the max. Talk about a lot of get-up-and-go for a four door family car! But, I fully expect a lot less on the 8's next visit... Had to do a little sweet-talking to get the GTP.

I have a focus, and it stinks. Some freakin' tourist must have lathered on the cheap suntan lotion like it was butter on a roll, then sweated it all out onto the seats.

Hey.. Did any of you get your official recall letters from Mazda? They said it would be mailed on the 28th first class. I havent gotten mine yet but I suspect that everyone is just taking theirs in without the recall papers knowing that your VIN falls inbetween the recall specs.

Thankx, David..

I took mine in for the recalls today and didn't get any car. Had to use the courtesy shuttle. I didn't press them on it - I guess if I'd really needed a car during the day, they would've given me one.

Anxious to get my baby back.

The front passenger Air bag recall for everyone.. I assume. It was just released... go to the Rosenthal's website www.finishlineperformance.com for info.

I got a Dodge Neon as my rental, and a miata. I think they are trying to make me feel better and roomier in my 8.

I'm taking mine in Monday morning for both recalls and the PCM reflash.. Since I'm going at 7:30 in the morning, where will they get me a loaner car from??

There's an exotic rental car place around the corner from the dealer.. no chance I'll get a Ferrarri eh?

mine is in for the recalls, 10,000 checkup, oil change, and pcm flash. they said it should all be done today. and the loaner...

a neon!

power nothing. I had to roll down (literally) the passenger window to adjust the mirror.

I complained like hell the first time they gave me a neon. The second time they did better (probably because of the complaint) but this time they said they couldn't do any better unless they waited for another car to come back to enterprise, and I had to get back to work. its like driving the 8 at 20mph in 6th gear. I really think it would benefit mazda to use other mazdas as loaners. it might be a deal breaking consideration for my next car. m3?

I got a chevy cavalier. At least it was new. Very spatious interior, but that's about it. It was bare to the bone...I'm surprised I even had AC.

Oh sure there's a chance. About a snowball's chance in hell.

Maybe you've figured out the key to getting a mazda loaner...going early, before the rental car places open. I doubt it though. Maybe you'll get a nice 30 minute wait followed up with a ride in the courtesy van over to enterprise.

So have anyone of you tried to use any excuses to get yourself an upgrade. I mean.. gosh we bought an RX8... no a Mazda 3 or something... and its brand new too!! I mean what the hell, we bought the 8 because we want something nice right. I mean they should at least loan us a Mazda 3 or soemthing on their lot...

I will threaten them that I will give them all zeros for that customer satisfaction sheet.

I got a Grand AM GT- they told me they were trying to give me something close to what I was used to driving and didn't want to "make" me drive a Protege. I would much rather have had the Protege. The Grand Am felt like a loud, ugly boat with no pickup and no brakes.

Freak'n Focus, smelled like crapolla, and drove like it too. They offered to put me in a Ford F150, for 5$ extra. They tried to get me to pay for a whole bunch of different insurance and crap like that. Even after I said no, they said if I have full insurance already they can give me another deal, etc etc. The sales continue into the service center:-(

I got a 2002 Protege as my loaner. It had a Mazda logo on it...there the resemblance ended. And they ended up keeping my 8 overnight because they didn't have the oil pan in stock. Oh well, the Protege got me there and back.

I just had this done on Monday- the recall would have only taken a few minutes, but I asked them to clear my CEL and re-flash my ECU so they kept it for the day. Enterprise brought me a new loaded VW Jetta- not too bad. I quickly realized what a great car the RX8 is- especially handling and braking. German engineering and interior ergonomics are sooo different than Japanese & American.
