Got my 8 Saturday 28 Feb. On monday when leaving work to go to lunch (now below freezing) the little flat tire light came on. Front left ended up just being about 2 pound too low. I was greatful.

I had a mustang Cobra 97. on the right rear lost some air with out my knowledge end next thing i know is was all shredded, lucky for me the rim did not receive and damage but i was stuck in the mountains (driving of the continetial devide at rogers pass, rock mountains).

On monday I was able to swing by the gas station and fill the tire and was on my way.

Glad to hear it actually works. I was skeptical...might just go let some air out to test mine.

It works if the sensors are present - when they installed my chrome rims the tire guy a)forgot to install the sensors, or 2) the dealer didn't tell him they were required.

Is this part of a package or a std item on the 8?

There was a second install of wheels/tires with the sensors included and all has been fine since then.

The trouble I'm having with mine is, the light always starts flashing sometime during all my trips. It's usually at least 10 min after I start driving. Anyone know what's up with that? I do have different winter tires on the stock rim. I'm thinking that might have something to do with it.

It usually takes 10 to 15 minutes for the tpms to kick in once you start driving. It sounds like one of your tires has pressure out of range. Check them all. Also do a search on TPMS. There are several threads describing this.

Flashes or beeps then stays lit?

According to the manual on page 5-25, it flashes when there is a system malfunction.

When mine was low on air, it beeped a few times, then stayed lit solid -- no flashing.

Once it got below freezing here mine would come on until I built up some pressure. Added air to 32 psi when they were cold and it's fine now. Pressure was down to 28 psi before I checked them.

you do know you have an air pump in the trunk so next time don't wait 3days to put air in it could damage your rims

I was only a block away from the gas station when mine came on...i was easier to just stop there. Who waited 3 days? I'll go back and read.

Don't get the impression that the monitor only works at low presures...it also illuminates at an over-pressure too.

My dealer forgot to let out the 'shipping' air - 45-50 PSI - and thus driving this new car home (bouncing all the way in the rain at night) was interesting. All four tires 45 PSI - when warm the pressure was 55 PSI in the one tire I checked before letting out the excess.
