Anyone see a vid titled "Evolution of MOAB"? It's a turbo busa with nitrous and water injection. Last pass in that video it throws down 497.7 on 110 octane, 25 psi, untuned with slipping clutches. Then it says "32psi with C-16 and nitrous comming soon." :eek: Insane.

WOW, incredible sensation of acceleration and speed.
Just imagine cruising around 150mph and someone overtakes doing a wheelie... Amazing!

I'm just planning to start with a Yamaha TZR. Hayabusa? Maybe next year :)

A driver of one of the rocket powered land speed record cars commented once "I think I'm fast enough to realize something went wrong, but I'm not fast enough to do anything about it."

I think that applies in the case of these bikes.

Those things are crazy quick. A buddy and I worked the timing at the NASA Texas Mile (http://www.texasmile.com) event last year, and the fastest vehicle was one of several 'Busas entered: 210.1mph at the end of a one-mile run from a standing start!

Gotta tell you, when you're sitting 50' off to one side, a 210mph projectile goes by reeeeeal fast!

WOW that was in my neck of woods. That road is US-27. Very popular to go fast. I have seen this bike in person. Very impressive

Wow! That was fun! I've been planning to get one of those used Ducatis tht go for $9K. Dont know much about superbikes, but what do you think is a good superbike to start with? Those Hayabusa Turbos are a little too crazy for me. Count me in the puss section for now.

That's easy - NONE. If you're not a rider, then if you want to stay alive/uninjured it is critical to learn to ride first! By that, I mean get a mid-size bike (600cc sport bikes do NOT count, as they're equally inappropriate learning bikes), and spend a season or two learning how to ride before you even consider a sport bike, much less a superbike. Otherwise - you WILL hurt yourself!

I'm a member of a few sportbike boards, and asking this question in any of those will get you instantly flamed! Gord is absolutely right, if you are new to riding DO NOT start out with a superbike as it will get you into trouble in a hurry. I'm not saying it can't be done, but you're best bet is to start out with a smaller, less powerful bike and learn how to ride FIRST. I have a Suzuki SV650S, which IMO is an excellent starter bike - cheap, decent power, handles great, and, if you're inclined to, you can mod it to supersport-level performance fairly easily.

I concur. I started with a GS500E. Great starter bike, but the SV is much better. V Twin engines are much easier to control (Lower RPMs). In addition, go to a MC driving school. If you stick with it, learn to ride dirtbikes. It will help your street riding. I was in Bike Week this weekend in Daytona. It was packed :cool:

I started with a 600cc myself. It does make it a little harder to learn to ride, but it's still do-able. If you know how to drive a manual transmission car and have a good understanding of the concepts of riding, that's half the battle right there.

I don't ride either... but often have the urge to get a bike.

If I do, the SV650 is first on my list.

Or maybe just starting out with a Triumph Thruxton. :D

True. A lot of it also has to do with the maturity of the person riding it. I hadn't ridden a bike in over ten years on the day that I picked up my SV, but in retrospect, I think I could've managed with a 600 supersport. I went with the SV mostly because of cost - it's a hell of a lot of bike for the money!

I agree 110% with what Gord, Desmo, and Demon said. Start out small and then move on to bigger and faster bikes.

Get yourself a nice used bike. Learn how to ride and properly maintain it, and then move on to something else.

Oh, and for the sake of pete, invest in a GOOD helmet and riding gear (jacket, pants, boots and gloves - Condora or leather).
