Since it was a nice day, I decided to take a little cruise down Ortega Highway to lake Elsinore and back. It was beautiful. All the hills are nice and green, quite a change from their normal dull brown.

I stopped at the Lookout Roadhouse, had a Dr. Pepper (cost me $2 for a 12 ounce can) and admired the view. The air was clear and all the mountians were covered in snow with the deep blue lake below. It was a spectacular view, and I wish I'd brought a camera.

On the way back to San Jaun Capistrano I was following a guy on a BMW sport bike. He was hitting the curves pretty fast, doing 65 on some of the 35 MPH ones, but I was able to stick right with him. He let me go by at a turnout and started following me but couldn't (or didn't want to) keep up. I normally don't drive that fast on Ortega but traffic was pretty light and I hadn't seen any cops on the way out. Damn it was a blast.

During the ride home up I-5, I had the windows down, the sun roof open and Judas Priest cranked up. I was cruising down the highway singing along to classics like "Head Out to the Highway", "Breaking the Law" and "Turbo Lover". People must have thought I was nuts but all in all it was a great ride.

If you don't have anything to do Sunday I highly reccomend you do a little Ortega Highway cruise.

I drive the Ortega every day to work (from Menifee to Aliso Viejo), which was a main reason for my buying my RX-8 and my ZX-6 :)

It handles great on the Ortega.

Also, they opened a new place up by the Ranger station called Hells Kitchen. I havent stopped in yet, I want to very soon.

Maybe we should have a RX day at Hell's Kitchen
