When will the big wankel be available in the Rx-8. 1.5 liter as a result of "stroking", or in the case of a wankel, "extruding" rotors from 80 to 90 mm.

That should increase power somewhere less than 12.5 %

well that's not exactly easy to do, you would need new rotors, new side housings, new eshaft... whereas in a piston engine, you'd need new pistons and bore out the cylinders, you don't exactly bore out the side housing in the renesis or any rotary for that matter

and then that's just the internals, would need new headers probably as well

he's not talkin' about doing it himself, that would be impossible... he's just commenting on the possibitiy of Mazda manufacturing a wider rotor'd RENESIS for possible use in MAZDASPEED RX-8's or future possible RX-7...
