Why do Democrats always think everyone is entitled to everything? What ever happened to hard work being rewarded? Why should someone who makes more money always have to pay a much bigger percentage of taxes? Why should I pay for someone else's kids? It kills me how liberals seem to work off of feeling all the time which is very subjective instead of logic and laws. I am surprised to find some of these threads as liberal as they are, since I consider the RX8 a thinking person's car. I'd like to hear some rational behind why the rich are so evil and should give all their money to the poor. By the way what the heck is the definition of rich in the liberals' eyes...40K+ a year, 60K+ a year, what?

LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMBBBBBLLLLLEEEEE!

I agree by the way. You should get what you work for. Why do the people who work hard in this country have to baby so many people. Charity is not for the gov't responsibility.

I forgot to add. My parents came from China. I was born here. Always had to work for things. Always been honest. Only time I got a handout was about $300 for a Cal Grant my first semester in college. With the internet and TV as common as they are now, you almost have to be stupid not to know how to succeed in life. This society is going to hell in a handbasket. The more you reward laziness, the less people will work hard. Why do you think kids are getting worse nowadays. Too many parents not accepting responsibility for their offspring. They'd rather get money than have one person stay home and raise the children. And yes you can afford it. I do with no outside help. Not everyone has to live in Southern California or other expensive parts of the country. Live somewhere more affordable and work your way up. Make the world a better place. There are very few bad kids, mostly just bad parents.

Yer jokin', right? Our current president's the poster boy for privilege. That guy's never worked hard a day in his life, he was a pretty crappy businessman (family & friends kept bailing him out) and now he's the freaking president.

I do not even know where to start. For one thing, you're obviously quite bitter. I'm sorry your parents didn't spoil you like everyone else is being spoiled, or that you didn't get the handouts everyone else is. As for kids getting worse today and society going to hell in a handbasket - hey man, cheer up, we're going to be okay. If society is going to hell in a handbasket it is going to be due to greed and arrogance, not indulgence. I'd rather be living under the forgiving, compassionate rule of a "liberal" than the backwoods iron fist of a George W. There's something called empathy - it doesn't have to be every man for himself. In short: relax. Everyone's just trying to get by.

Why are all the trolls on this forum Republicans?

I think your obvious over-exaggeration here undermines whatever credibility the rest of your post might otherwise have had. I certainly don't think everyone is entitled to everything; I just happen to believe that people deserve more consideration than you think they do.

What ever happened to hard work being rewarded?

Uhh, last time I checked, people do get rewarded for working hard at thoughtfully-chosen professions. Now, if you're unclear on the concept and choose to work hard at digging ditches or flipping burgers, I can't help you -- unless you really DO want me to try to get the politicians to make the minimum wage a livable one.

Why should someone who makes more money always have to pay a much bigger percentage of taxes?

Yeah, higher incomes do get taxed at higher rates (which I personally think is wrong... I favor a flat percentage tax for everyone with no writeoffs, loopholes, or exemptions), but what the well-off folks get to keep is still more than what lower-paid people have left over when it's all said and done. If paying a certain percentage of your income in taxes bugs the bejeezus out of you, then just don't make so much money that it puts you in that tax bracket. Oh, you don't like that idea? You'd make less money after taxes that way? Okay then... Suck it up and pay your taxes like a good citizen, and work for a LOGICAL system of tax laws rather than this Gawd-awful mess we have now.

Why should I pay for someone else's kids?

I'm not sure what you're objecting to here; no one's asking you to pay child support on a kid you didn't act as sperm donor for, are they? I get the feeling (oops, there I go acting on feelings again) that you resent your tax dollars working toward the benefit of anyone other than yourself by providing unnecessary services like public education... and HeadStart programs... and those excessive salaries paid to public school teachers. So which private schools did your hard-working well-heeled parents send you to?

It kills me how liberals seem to work off of feeling all the time which is very subjective instead of logic and laws.

There you go letting your... ahem, feelings get the better of you again. Mr. Spock would be ashamed of you. Actually, did you know that Mr. Spock would've made a damn good Democrat? "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."

I am surprised to find some of these threads as liberal as they are, since I consider the RX8 a thinking person's car.

So how did you end up with one? :p

I'd like to hear some rational behind why the rich are so evil and should give all their money to the poor.

Please point me to a post wherein any liberal member of this board described the rich as "evil", and insisted that all their money should be handed to the poor.

.... I'm waiting.

By the way what the heck is the definition of rich in the liberals' eyes...40K+ a year, 60K+ a year, what?

I'd have to vote for "what".

Have a lovely weekend! ;)

This country was not built on handouts. Every great empire falls. Don't be so sure of yourself. Spoiling your kids silly doesn't do them any favors. Just creates more liberals who can't take care of themselves and rely on the system to get by. Gee, communism didn't work. Socialism doesn't either. Ask people who live in those countries and then think about why most people keep trying to move to the USA. Just because GWB doesn't roll over or should I say bend over, doesn't make him a bad guy. If we had gotten attacked with your clown, Gore, in office, it wouldn't have been just once. They didn't attack Bush, they attacked US. AND they did it before Bush was in office, regardless of political party. I hope you are paying your fair share in taxes, like the rest of us. THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH.

It is the same as the universal definition of over paid. If they make more money than me then they are over paid.:D

Xtasy94,

Liberalism is a mental disease -- NO sense arguing about opinions here. Some of the views expressed on this board concerning social and political topics are down right scary :( That's why I just shake my head and enjoy the car discussions. There is no logic -- there is no rational thought -- just anger. I have never seen more bigotry, hate, or fear-mongering than from a liberal who didn't get what they wanted. Thank heavens there is still some sanity in the Midwest. Oh -- I forgot everything is a conspiracy by the rich, Christian, Bush-worshipping, Halliburton employed conservatives to destroy the world and the environment just to make an extra buck ;)

Flame gear now activated :D

I think you can be rewarded for hard work in ANY job. If you are a burger-flipper, be the most on-time, professional-appearing, respectful, willing-to-do-the-dirty-work, come-in-when-the-other-slackers-call-in-sick, stay-late-to-clean-up, best damn burger-flipper in the whole place.

You WILL get noticed, and you will get ahead. Maybe next year you will be a cashier, and the next year an assistant manager, and so forth. In ten years, maybe you'll run the place. In twenty years, you'll own a few franchises.

Get my drift?

We all appreciate your thoughtful, reasoned opinions and your skillful use of those little typographic face thingys - they're the hallmark of really smart people and I gotta give ya credit 'cuz I don't think I've ever seen 'em used so cleverly before - but what's this got to do with the subject at hand?

Not that you weren't real entertaining an' all, 'cuz you were.

I almost always vote democrat, but I do not believe everyone is entitled to everything. I am a firm believer in working hard and getting what you honestly deserve. As for your "the RX8 is a thinking person's car" comment, how do you figure that a democrat is a non-thinker? Yes, there are liberals who are way out of touch, just like their are conservatives who don't have a clue. Let's just not lump everyone into two categories.

I'm with mamccubbin all the way. Just because I'm Democrat doesn't mean 1) I always vote Democrat and 2) I'm out there with Jesse Jackson on all liberal issues. And I sure as heck am not a child of entitlement. I worked hard for what I got.

Listening to the Rushes and Seans of the far right it seems to me that it's them who are monolithic in their views of the world, incapable of original reasoning and personal assessment. And there are no scarier people on the face of the earth (including Clinton and Clinton) than the three Dr. Strangeloves that really run America - Cheney, Ashcroft and Rumsfeld.

Thanks for the many responses. Need to clarify. I am nowhere near digging ditches and flipping burgers, although I did do plenty of the latter and worked my way up in life from the ground. That is why I don't understand why many, not all, liberals keep complaining about the rich. This is the land of opportunity. Make your own fate, don't wait for handouts.

My parents weren't well heeled, they just sacraficed in order to provide for their children. As far as quoting Spock, the needs of the many would be a lot less if more people had more pride and took care of their business. Try not having illegitimate children for a start. When I say the democrats are always telling the rich to give money to the poor, look at your party. Their big thing is always how the richest 10% get 30% of the tax rebate or something like that. It is a rebate; they get in proportion what they paid in. When was the last time Duracell gave you a rebate for buying Energizer batteries?

RXhusker, couldn't agree with you more. The car stuff is cool here. Just amazes me how many crybabies there are..."help me get my SUV, help me pay for my bratty kids, wah wah wah" :):):)

mamccubbin, agreed, not everyone is extreme. I am speaking in generalities. Just wanted to hear from people about the questions I had.

I conclude so far that there are some in this world who want handouts and some who have enough self-esteem to work for things in life. Our taxes would be lower if we didn't have all the "social" programs to pay for everyone else's bad decisions in life. Take responsibility for yourself and your families and spread the word. Life for all of us would be that much easier.

Everyone have a good day and congratulations for being a Mazda fan!!!
