View Full Version : GREEN Drop in Filter Installed
AlexCisneros 02-26-2004, 09:46 PM Due to a fluke... I was able to get and install the new GREEN Filter drop in.
First impressions... I need to drive it more ;)
It seems that there is a "feelable" gain in performance. Somehow the car feels like it revs faster (best way to describe it, there is still no "torque kick"). Where it is most noticeable is in partial throttle. Under partial throttle, the car really seems to open up.
Now remember I compete in SCCA Solo2 B-Stock so a cone filter is out of the question.
I will try and dyno the car first chance I get with, without, and with no filter.
:D :D :D
AlexCisneros 02-26-2004, 09:48 PM Stock Filter vs Green
AlexCisneros 02-26-2004, 09:49 PM Difference from side
Baller 02-27-2004, 01:07 AM Green is good!!!
Psychofox 02-27-2004, 01:12 AM nice :)
tommy12g 02-27-2004, 03:47 PM Alex, i put the K&N drop in and my impression was the same as you described and the thinness of it is the same as well, its less than half the thickness of the Stock one.
310Guy 02-28-2004, 01:25 PM Sorry if this info is out there but where do you get these filters?
AlexCisneros 02-28-2004, 05:39 PM I got mine through Dynamic Turbo in Miami FL
(305-593-6169)
Tommy said he got his at www.4filters.com (or something like that)
mmmdowning 02-28-2004, 07:09 PM Great, I didn't want to do a intake due to waiting on SC or Turbo and then all the changes. Tanks
310Guy 02-28-2004, 07:38 PM Thanks Alex.
I found this as well: http://www.greenfilterusa.com/
bureau13 02-28-2004, 10:54 PM So other than their own propaganda, does anyone have any references to indicate that this is superior to K&N, which seems to be very similar? Any independent test results, measuring either performance or filtration capability?
jds
God of Thunder 03-03-2004, 02:36 PM Just ordered mine today. Did as much research as is possible on the differences between K&N and Green. In the end they are probably pretty interchangable. Most of what I read indicated that the Green had a little better air flow, and slightly better filtering.
Shocka 03-03-2004, 04:27 PM ok this seems like a good solution since i wanna be stock for autocross this season its my first year i dont need any added pressure
AlexCisneros 03-03-2004, 08:06 PM IMHO I don't think there really is much difference between one or the other. The only reason I didn't buy the K&N was because it wasn't at the store and the GREEN was.
Alex, does Dynamic Turbo sell any other parts for the 8. I bought some parts from them years ago for my first gen 20g Eclipse.
Genom 03-04-2004, 06:57 AM They are starting to. I got my Greddy exhaust there, and another guy bought a HKS exhaust. They also got sway bars, springs, and even had a HKS coilover kit by mistake.
AlexCisneros 03-05-2004, 09:14 PM yep, A bunch of us have bought stuff there.
I also bought my parts for my 2nd Gen Eclipse GSX with them years ago ;)
Thank's guys, I'm going to go shopping soon.
GeckoRx8Xtreme 03-05-2004, 11:55 PM How much you all paid for a Rx8 green filter??
God of Thunder 03-06-2004, 04:53 AM $62
