Reminds me of another true story (made into a short film):

Guy has dinner with wife and a few close friends. In their conversation, he mentions he has a lottery ticket and they ask the waiter to check the numbers when the time comes. So... He goes to the restroom. Friends play a joke and asks the waiter to read *his* numbers. So later, the waiter comes and reads the numbers.. The guy wigs out a bit, pays for the entire dinner, then turns to turns to his wife and leaves her the house keys, saying "I've been sleeping with your sister for the past 3 months... I'm leaving you. Here are the keys to the house. Good bye." Gets up and leave.

I think it was something that was already out in the open - otherwise the wife wouldn't be so pissed at him, her own guilt would detract from that.
