I'm not sure if anyone has any info on the new RX-7's but I heard (from here, a while ago) it was based on the RX-8 and someone showed a picture that looked pretty hot
does anyone have any info they could compare?
Price is one thing, speed etc..

I've always wanted to get an 8 this year but might hold off for a 7

You wont see what a real new RX-7 looks like until mazda unveil it at a motor show.

This sort of thing is very well guarded, anything actualy seen before hand wont be the real thing.

Thats if mazda make an rx-7.

I'm pretty confident there's one in the works. Everything at this point is speculation though.

Everything Mazda has said(publically) has stated they are not bringing it back. They are, however, developing a two-seat RX-8 and a convertible. Supposedly.

As I said, never trust any info or designs until they unveil them at a show.

IMO any 2 seater rotary mazda make will be a new RX-7 in spirit if not in name anyhow.

There WAS one in the works - the concept version was scheduled to be shown at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show (last fall), leading up to introduction in 2005 as a 2006 model. Very shortly before the Tokyo show, Mazda decided to put the project on hold, and not show the car. As far as I know, there is no change in that hold status - ie, no further development work is taking place.

In other words - don't hold your breath waiting for a new RX-7 anytime soon! It might still happen, but it won't go on sale until 2006 at the earliest.
