Does the non bose head unit have RCA preouts. I've been following some threads that claim this is so. I just Dynamatted my whole trunk and know that there is factory amp in there. I've looked at some of the photos of the back of the HU pin setup and wiring scheme in the threads i've been following and those pins look to be speaker outs not low out to me. Can someone verify these leads or is there away to verify high or low output with a voltmeter?

Neither of the stock systems in the RX-8 have any RCA outputs. But a forum member named Overload is building a module that will add them. Do a search in the Audio/Electronics forum for lots more info.
Edit:
DUH! I wasn't thinking ... of course Overload's mod is for INputs, not OUTputs! Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

The device Overload is creating is for RCA inputs. If you have an MP3 device, or something similar, you can plug the RCA jacks in so it will play through the stereo. He's asking about pre-amp outputs.
There are a couple threads concerning the pre-out lines. But as far as I can find, nothing concerning tapping it and running the wiring from the HU. All other threads have tapped the lines just before entering the bose amp in the rear. There are no RCA pre-outs. There is, I believe, a line level pre-out.

Is that a line level pre out before an amp. Is there a amp under the dash or in the car somewhere on the non bose unit?
