I've had my 8 for like 3 years now and it hasn't broken down once. York 04-11-2011, 05:10 PM If it was very well taken care of it may have a lot of life left in it. If it wasn't, it could be down for the count any day. The engine warranty is expired. Is it automatic or manual? RID3R 04-11-2011, 05:21 PM Its a manual and the guy is in college had it for 15000 miles second owner, i know people who had alot of repairs and read reviews of engines completely dieing. i wouldnt want to spend that much money if its gonna die the next day and im gonna need to spend 1500-4000 on rebuilding the motor myself. expo1 04-11-2011, 05:27 PM Have a compression test done, if it passes 7k isn't bad. Just barley passes doesn't count. RID3R 04-11-2011, 06:13 PM How do you do a compression test on a rotary? i know how to do it on regular piston engines what about this one? expo1 04-11-2011, 06:21 PM How do you do a compression test on a rotary? i know how to do it on regular piston engines what about this one? You take it to a Mazda dealer and give them $100-$150. It's something you MUST do when buying a high mileage 8. RID3R 04-12-2011, 11:46 AM Thanks =) |
