If you were to spend 4k dollars what would you do first to your RX-8....

Trade it an and get a turbo car that takes well to mods and start heading towards stage 4... Oh wait... :p ;)







Really though, save your money and wait for some worthwhile performance mods. Or go buy a kart, most fun you'll have on 4 wheels in your life!

I'd get MBs with Sumitomos, Borla or Corksport exhaust, midpipe and RT cat, lot of interior details and spend the other $2k on other stuff.:p
You can keep your expensive Volks. I'm not into name-brand wheels.

TURBO!!! Are you kidding. You didn't offer turbo power as a choice? How can I spend that kind of money with out it.

Since turbos arent all there yet, I hate to say it, but I'd go with Ike. Save it for later or get a kart. Holy beejesus are those things wicked.

I've been through so many different wheels & tires on my last car that I am done with aftermarket wheels for a long time unless it's for winter wheels.

They always end up too heavy or they vibrate . . . it's always a hassle and no matter how much research I did tghe weights for the wheels as well as the tires was ALWAYS wrong.

And you get wheels that are heavier then lthe stock set up, they slow the car down ... plus the Bridgestone SO3's are great tires but they really are overkill for daily driving and they are heavy as a mutha.

As far as tires, I would consider the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 tires, the Michelin Pilots or if you want to save a few $$$, the Yokohama ES100's though those take a split second to settle into a curve.

I'd put it towards the principle of my loan.... :)

Wait just a minute there Maniac. The Mark II MR2's were pretty bad ass... They looked like a hawk swooping in for the kill except for the yellow ones which looked like a yellow jacket. Can't even say that about the RX-8 in yellow, it looks like a pissed off Pikachu.

If only the RS4 came to the US. Then there'd be a truly beautiful turbo factory car. But now they are into that whole aluminum 8 thing instead of the turbo 6 that was so awesome in the S4 ane RS4.

I will wait and do engine mods... you don't want to put the bodykit into the car before any performance mods - this is rice!

You need a fourth option: Forced Induction! :D Of the choices you listed, I'd have to go with rims, as I have already spent the money on a body kit. Check this (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21346) out. :D

I'd have to go with Stage I or II, headers, full cat-back exhaust, plus whatever other power improvements can be had with what's left over. Then I could start thinking about the body kit, but I'm pretty happy with the OEM 18" wheels.

Btw, it doesn't look like you'll be able to do FI for a measly $4k.

I'd have to go with something that includes PERFORMANCE instead of only LOOKS. Maybe CZ1, intake, exhaust.

Custom Koni shocks and a Ti exhaust.

I would get Borla exhaust (now that I've heard it) the MP3 player and hold the rest to see what the Mazdaspeed version includes that I would want to add.

Get a catback exhaust...B&B, or the Racing Beat one, get Canzoomer's mod, and save the rest torwards gas and tires...
