It was Heartbreaking but I just couldn't help myself.

I thought about trading in my '86 Pontiac Grand Prix with 190,000 miles on it. But then I thought to myself, "wait, doesn't that have 400 horse power?" I don't think they'd offer me enough money for it.

2003 BMW 330i 10,400 miles - real lame huh :p :D

I tried trading in my 95 vw golf that has 211k on it, but it doesn't run, so I couldn't trade it in. :)

I traded in my 2000 Firebird (v6, 200hp) with 96000 miles. Well kept, a few paint chips, interior passenger blind/ mirror broke off and tires really bold - I got $5800 on it.

5 months later, it's still in the possession of the wholesaler who gets some work done on the cat.

I guess I did well.

Traded in 2002 Nissan Sentra Spec V with 30,000 miles on it.

'94 Volvo 940 Turbo wagon with peeling paint and over 160K miles. Still ran great, though. It's hard to kill a Volvo. I sometimes miss all that cargo space....

how much did they give you for the trade?

96 Lexus LS400 with about 60,000 miles. I do miss that serene smoothness, but the 8's a lot more fun to drive, and I no longer feel invisible on the road. I don't know if that's a good thing or not!

uh... how about almost traded my marriage... Was supposed to get the wife a new car but got me one instead :D .

Traded my 99 Jaguar XK8 convertible with 38,000 miles on it.

Traded in my '02 Dodge Dakota exteded cab pick up with 29K on it, this is mid life crisis at it's finest! At least I wasn't upside down in my loan, I got about 1.5K extra for the trade in value, that paid for tax, title and liscense at least.

I was supposed to trade in my '94 Miata but that car just doesn't want to leave the house. The 8 and the Miata look so cute together in the garage, it's hard to put any real effort into selling it. It's annoying that I can't get a decent break from the insurance company - it's not like we're driving any more miles...

My latest excuse for not selling the Miata is the current gasoline price spike. My wife gets the 8 for her commute (what's wrong with this picture?), I get the Miata for mine (60 miles/day), and the boat-puller-gas-guzzler gets a rest.

2001 Galant GTZ with 28,000 miles (wife's old car I got stuck with when she got a Tahoe). Now feel like I'm 18 again when I bought my '82 RX-7.

2001 Oldsmobile Alero GLS with 65k miles, a dented rear quarter panel, bad struts and no breaks.. They gave me 7k for it which was about 3k more than I expected!

Traded my 2002 Acura RSX Type-S with around 13,000 miles. I really miss it though.

WHen I bought my Alero I traded in THIS lemon...

1986 Buick Lesabre with multpiple body dents, 110k miles. When you opened the passenger window more than 3/4 of the way down, the door would pop open. Almost lost a date this way.... But good for weeding out smokers. No breaks whatsoever.. I almost wrecked on the way to the dealership.. The steerign wheel linkage was loose, it practically rested in your lap if you weren't holding it up to drive. No tread on the tires, no shocks, and the muffler was hanging down.

They gave me $500 for shis beauty, and the salesperson said "Is that safe for our guys to drive around the block to the storage lot?" I said, "yeah, I drove it here from Kenner" (8 miles ish) But when I passed by the dealership 3 days later, it was still sitting there in the rain with the window open the same way i'd left it...

They'd probably had so many people wanting to test-drive it that they hadn't had a chance to take it away! :)

I've got two kids so the 8 is more "practical" :)

Really? Damn I think I'd take the 330i over the 8.

98 BMW Z3.....was an easy decision, too many on the road.

RSX Type S I am so glad I did it.

1995 Camaro Z-28. Was modded out to roughly 450 HP, but I got tired of driving a car that everyone else seems to have. Plus I'm sure if I kept street racing I'd probably end up in jail.
