My RX8 reached 2500 miles today - so did its first oil change. The forum proved very useful !
Yes - a gorilla at Mazda must have installed the oil filter - used a technique from the forum - put a rag inside a number 5 oil filter 'wrench' from WalMart - worked well.
The fill was 3 1/2 quarts - as per forum - and I used Dino oil - 5W20 of course.
Plan to have next change at 5K at dealer to deal with warranty issues at that time. I live about 90 miles from the dealer so I hope the forum will help me develop an "Issues List" so I can have all them dealt with at that time.

PS Any other things I should be doing at this mileage? - except for turning it out on a regular basis - of course.
