I was just wondering about the climate control available on the RX-8. There is some mention of a digital, automatic climate control, but then again it was only referenced with the top-of-the-line leather model.

Does anybody know if the automatic climate control is available on all RX-8's or is it just with the G/T package. As far as I can tell it will be available on all since in the options list there is no mention of that particular climate control with any packages.

Am I wrong?

The center console has been the same in all the picks I've seen. I would think that it would have to be changed a little to accomodate a manual climate control, so I'm guessing they all have the auto climate control.

I have seen interior pictures where there is an automatic climate control system, and others where there is the more common heating/air conditioning system. It seems the more recent pictures show the basic HVAC system without automatic climate control.

Do you have pictures that show this? All the pics I have seen show the same A/C controls on all cars. :confused:

The knobs and button configuration are pretty much the same between the two variations. The auto climate control models had knobs that returned to center when you increased/decreased the desired tempurature, or the desired fan speed. Inside the temp knob was an "AUTO" button which I assume is for automatic climate control. In this same picture there is a temperature readout in the upper display. I've only seen this on the yellow prototype car, not any of the more recent 'final spec' cars.

Go search through your old pics of the yellow prototype (I'm sure you have some, right? ;)). I don't have the space to upload my pic right now.
