View Full Version : Well, this has turned into an interesting night...
Elara 02-14-2004, 11:50 PM Not 30 minutes ago I was sound asleep. And was rather suddenly and rudely interupted by our neighbor shrieking at the top of her lungs at her (I presume) boyfriend in the hall outside our door. Scared the bjeezus out of us. After a minute we realized they were just pissed off(we think- there were a lot of "crazy bitch" and such going back and forth), and no one was dying, but they continued to shriek and stomp up the stairs, down the stairs, outside, and repeat. We finally called the cops because we didn't know what else to do. Now I'm sitting here half-listening to a cop outside in the hall explaining to the guy (apparently the girl has disappeared) why you can't scream at each other in the middle of the night. And I can't sleep, because I'm freaked out. What the hell is wrong with people?
all too familiar...i've had friends call the cops on their boyfriends/girlfriends for a fight that gone too far (no beatings, just massive screaming)...it happens particularly when two people just don't belong together and keep trying...eventually all barriers are broken down and all hell breaks loose...hell, Valentine's day causes too much stress on some people and i'm sure that's what happened to your neighbors...
Elara 02-15-2004, 12:08 AM Yeah, I'm guessing that's what happened. It was rather a shock, because they've lived across the hall for about 6 months now and we've never heard a peep, except to occasionally say hi in the hall as we passed. I'm VERY glad we're moving soon, as this is the just the icing on the cake. One neighbor beat up his wife, and then thought we called the cops (we didn't even know anything was going on since they lived on the other side of the building) and keyed the hell out of our BMW; another guy attacked my husband because he thought we were too loud (he also had aliens coming out of his vents, he told the cop); and someone was murdered three buildings down from us a few months ago. This is just getting stupider and stupider.
? so you've experienced a wife beating which preluded to your car being keyed, a guy attacking your husband with aliens coming out of his vents, a murder in your neighborhood, and now a woman screaming uncontrollably? where the heck do you live? :)
well like i said, all too familiar...just to share a shortened, condensed version of something that happend to me in my early 20's:
i was dating this unstable girl who, at the time seemed fairly straight...we got into a fight, one thing led to another and i decided it was time for both of us to move on...the problem was, i told her this while i was driving...well, she didnt' take too kindly to what i had to say and she decided to jump out of my car...at 40mph...across a police station with 2 cop cars ready to pounce at its next victim
well, if i hadn't grabbed her by the shirt, she would've looked like a bike accident...since i didn't let her jump out of my rapidly moving vehicle, she decides to kung fu kick me in the head...although with her sloth-like agility, she misses and kicks the steering column, breaking the key into the ignition...this upsets me because i really loved my 3000GT and kicking someone while driving was just really not necessary...so i let her out
i drive home hoping to collect my thoughts and just figured out what the fuck just happened and i get a call on the phone...it's her...she acts like nothing just happend...well one thing leads to another and we start arguing all over again...i hang up on her...she calls back...i hang up on her she calls back...i don't answer, she keeps calling back...i leave the phone off the hook, she starts calling my cellphone...annoying, so i pick up the phone...
to make a long story short, at the end of the conversation i tell her it's just not going to work out...she pulls the suicide card out of the deck...of course, i dont' want her to hurt herself so i dart over to her house...her door is wide open, i walk in...i go to her room and there she is with a knife in her hand and every single thing i've ever given her on the floor, all slashed up...teddy bears, poems, candles, pictures, all cut up...am i scared??? HELL YEA! SHE HAD A KNIFE IN HERE FRIGGIN' HAND!!! i somehow get the knife, notice she's drunk as all hell, and lay her down to bed so she can sleep it off...
so we talk about what happened the next day and decide the entire relationship was unhealthy (no shit!)...we called it quits and yadda yadda yadda...that was just one Valentine's Day out of 26!
Elara, I am very happy to hear that you and your husband are moving soon. Your stories are upsetting ME. As for the neighbors, I'll tell you a quick story. I moved to a pretty horrid town in Central PA, a few years back. The place looked pretty, but it was one of those towns where the buildings were nice and the people were lousy.
Anyway, I had these neighbors on one side who were pretty good friends, and after a while I ended up dating my neighbors best friend so we were all pretty chummy. I had attended their wedding about a year before; they had lived together for four years prior to that; and dated for about ten years off and on. One morning, I hear the wife shrieking in a voice I didn't believe the human voice box was capable, and I hear her drag a bunch of stuff out, and drive off. About ten minutes later I hear the husband drive away. I get up, and look and their house is wide open, and there is a pot on the stove. So I turn off the stove, and close the door sort of latching things up. I find out later from my girlfriend that he apparently had a seven year old son that he had never bothered to tell her about, and that he had fathered while they were living together the first time.
On the other side of my house, there was a couple who had knock down drag out fights at four in the morning on the porch next to my bedroom. They did this about every other night, and they were really rude to me when I tried to talk to them about it so I called the local cops on the illegally operated trucking company that he was running out of there. The cops tell me that they are about to arrest him anyway because the truck is stolen, and they think that he is running drugs up and down the coast with it.
The quicker you move the happier you will be, and I hope that you get a decent morning's sleep. Keep well - H
silvercloud 02-15-2004, 07:22 AM Elara,
Sorry about your awful night. Hopefully you move to your new home soon. I lived in Richmond for about 5 years- they have more than their fair share of murders don't they? - nice city tho.
Houses are great. Before I moved to mine I had a guy living above me who worked out on a rowing machine at 4 in the morning and sounded like he had boots filled with concrete in them when he walked through his apt, the woman below me had a poor autistic child who cried about 20 hours a day.
I hope you have no more "events" before you get out of there!
mental pimp 02-15-2004, 09:30 AM BRx8 , ur girlfriend is crazy!!!
klegg 02-15-2004, 09:52 AM True story..As many of you know, in the late 70's, early 80's, my sadistic parents (one a jew, one italian)sent me to an italian parochial school, looking the oppisite of italian with a jewish last name! well, I did not get many dates..till I got to collage, where my musical abilities and now long hair resulted in many dates..
well, I met a girl form north jersey, dumb as a post, but morally bankrupt, with a amazing body. After years of drought, I was in slut heaven! What I did not know was that she had been molasted by her adopted dad and sooooo crazy. (Since I think the sex with pop was not forced, not sure it counts as molesting..)
Anyway, I started to notice she was a little off....I can not say we were very faithfull, and to my shame now the whole relationship revolved around sex, but at least I was discrete about what I did..After walking in on her screwing another guy for the third time, the risk/benefit equation tilted too far in one direction, so I gave her the broom...starting a stalking nightmare...
She would follow me to partys, and threaten any girl I talked too..
She moves in to the dorm across from mine, with a view of my window..
I started dating a new girl, the psycho is looking through my dorm window, throws a brick in it, climbs in (ends up cutting herself on the glass, needs 20 stiches) and attacks the girl...when I try to hold her off, she kicks me in the groin, then knees me in the face, fracturing my nose!! As I lay on the floor bleeding and moaning, the cops are called...it takes three to pull her off the floor, screaming and kicking...I end up having to get a restrianing order..
She starts to violate it, of course..tries everything to get me to date her again...when I would not, she starts having sex with her window open, I think to try to make me jealous....just made me get tested for herpes..(clean, by the way!)
Anyway, a YEAR later I meet my wife...the girl finds out, gets my wifes phone number and starts calling her!! Thank god she got kicked out of school a few months later..
Their are some f@#$ up people out there....many of them seem to drive 350Z or wr...oh it is too easy, never mind!:D
guy321 02-15-2004, 09:55 AM Elara!
You have an 8 and a bmw, but it sounds like you live in a trailor park! What kind of place is that?? Glad you're moving!

Elara 02-15-2004, 09:56 AM Ugh- at least it's not just us with crazy neighbors. When we moved in here 6 years ago, it was a really nice apartment community- apparently, their standards have gone down. I just heard one of the neighbors outside acting like nothing was wrong, or ever was. These people are nutcases.
And BRx8, I live in the "West End" of Richmond, which is generally considered to be the nicer area of the city- kinda scary!
Silvercloud- yes, it's a nice city, but the crime rate is jumping back up again- bleah! Praying my car isn't screwed up now, because everyone knows who drives it...
jtimbck2 02-15-2004, 12:43 PM We've had our share of psychotic neighbors. One place we lived, the neighbors below us were a couple of immature college-age guys (actually the same age we were then), who decided they didn't like us for some reason, and started blasting their stereo for a few minutes between 2 - 3 in the morning several nights in a row. They'd also bounce a basketball off their ceiling. After we repeatedly complained to the apartment complex management, they were given a stiff enough warning that they left us alone for a while. Then a few weeks later, apparently after a particularly late night partying they came home and started up again. We had a louder stereo though, and we outgunned them (yes, I know, that was immature). The next day, they started this game of turning the power off to our apartment (the breaker panels for all the apartments were in a publicly accessible location). We called the cops, they got caught, and I don't know what happened after that, but they didn't bother us any more.

yup, I never hit her back, God knows I wanted too....was raised better, I guess..
guy321 02-15-2004, 02:10 PM There may be a "fracture of the nose clause" in the "dont hit women" rule .....
Course, I always just do what they tell me and agree with them.. much easier that way.

93rdcurrent 02-15-2004, 11:02 PM This is why I love home ownership. I don't have to deal with my neighbors if I don't want to. Plus we live in a nice neighborhood where that kinda crap isn't tolerated.
I have had 2 ex-girlfriends that stalked me. One that tried to continuously get me fired from my job. I was good friends with the boss however and he knew that she was full of crap. She would drive by my condo everynight and where I lived you had to go down to streets that didn't connect anywhere into a street that ended in couldesacs if you went left or right. So there wasn't any excuse to be there unless you meant to be. Never was beat up by a girl though. I guess with all my martial arts training none of them were fast enough to hit me.
Good luck in your new neighborhood and I hope you move fast Elara.
j1mb0x99 02-16-2004, 10:34 AM My freshman year of college, I lived next to a guy who made pornos in his dorm. He was also in one of the fraternities and would do all sorts of hazing and stuff with the initiates in his dorm room. Most of the time it was practicing some chant and if it was said wrong, they all got paddled. I can still remember part of the chants they had to shout. The guy was kinda like a legend on our floor cause of all the porno making though.

whoa...did you go to Auburn University and stay in my apartment complex????My next door neighbor did the SAME thing...It was like MILF's but more of a freshman thing instead of mother's...he and his buddies would go around probing for freshman women and bring them back to the apartment and start the filming...the walls were not real thin but I could here everything that went on in there....it made for some very interesting nights especially when I had a party and my drunken friends would knock on the door asking to be extras....
RotaryStalker 02-16-2004, 12:44 PM God, I have so many of these.
This one sticks out though.
I was in grad school living in an apt complex. One Friday (after some boozing) I'm sleeping at around 3 am when I wake up and notice someone is climbing through a second story window into my bedroom. So I hop up and grab the ol 357 just as he's now getting into the room. I pull back the hammer and yell at him. He's half plastered and mumbles "Is Carrie here?". She was my neighbor. So I scream another obscentiy and to get the hell out. He goes back out of the window.
At this point my head begins clearing a bit and I'm wondering if this guy is some psycho out to get Carrie. After all he's wearning jeans only, no shoes and looked kind of grubby. So after hearing some noises from next door I realize he's in there and call the cops.
They go next door and she spills a bunch of lies saying the guy isn't in there. The cops decide they can't force their way in and come back to talk to me.
The next day I go next door. She's still denying she even knows the guy. After I explain I nearly blew his head off, the amount of damage to my apt, and how I don't appreciate her current attitude she confesses that it was a friend of her old boyfriends. They had met at a bar and I guess were flirting. So the moron came over, knew generally what apt, got it wrong of course and proceeded to try to break into every window in my place until he used a ladder to get up on the roof and try the second story.
He came by to apologize and fix my damage. He even had the nerve to ask if he could come inside to fix the screens. Of course I told him "no way".
RotaryStalker
klegg 02-16-2004, 05:24 PM My offfer to fix that screen still stands...
